What happens to parcels and gift money given by sponsors and donors? The gifts are inventoried and securely stored in a site in each rehabilitation Center and given to beneficiaries on special occasions. After inventory in the central register, the UG staff will communicate to the country offices on a weekly basis, giving namesof sponsors whose gifts have been received from the different countries. The Country Coordinators will then get in touch with these sponsors to acknowledge them for the gifts sent to Home Again.

How do I know that the parcel or money I send is actually being given to a child or mother?

All gifts are tracked and monitored. Upon receipt, the gift items and money are inventoried in a central register. Gift items are then distributed to a rehabilitation center and stored securely. Village administration records the item removed from the Gift Inventory along with the name of the recipient and date it is given. Monetary gifts are given through the country office that administers. Your sponsorship. The office wires the funds to UG where the funds are requisitioned from Accounts in order to purchase gift items needed in the gift pool. The requisition and receipting system provides accountability for management of gift funds.

What happens to the funds that are already in the children’s accounts?Any funds received prior to the implementation of this policy will be retained in the child’s account and will not be pooled. It is our hope that as the children grow older, they will learn to save funds for future use.

What is a sponsor limited to doing for his/her beneficiary? The greatest gifts you can give are prayer and consistent sponsorship payments, which provide for their needs. A letter about twice per year so they know something about you is meaningful.

Home Again StoryThis Organization was founded by a group of men in 2010 that saw there was need to re-integrate children to their families and also find families which are willing to take on the children.

This group saw many street children on the road side and many abandoned children in hospitals and rubbish pits. There encounter with the children as a way of doing evangelism on the street opened there eyes that what they were seeing was more than preaching and feeding but it was more to do with identifying their families so that these children can have a sense of belonging.

Initially it started as a group but now it birthed into Home Again children Ministries. Currently Home again has Resettled over 120 children into their families and also following them up to find out whether the support that is being offered to them is fully utilized by the assigned children in the family.

Home Again MinistriesPO box 37427, Kampala,Uganda, East Africa.

Email: [email protected] the back flap of the envelope: Include your sponsored individual’s full name

HELPFUL TIPS:Keep it short and simple. English is a second language for your sponsored member and your letter may need to be translated. This helps your

sponsored member to be able to understand and respond.Be encouraging. The love of Jesus has transformed their lives and their circumstances. Your letter can reinforce this message of love to them. Encourage them in any milestone they may have mentioned to you.Talk about yourself and/or your family. Describe in general terms the area in which you live (no specifics please).Describe what you do for a living. This is especially interesting for older children and those in university.Share about your relationship with Jesus and prayerrequests you may have.Allow your sponsored individual time to develop their writing skills. They love to receive your letters, but it

can be very difficult for them to write back to you. If they are able, they will write theirown letters. If not, they will receive assistance from a Home Again Ministries staff member, elder sibling, or teacher. If your sponsored child is in school, time is given duringclass to write letters. Sometimes this can give your letter a formalfeel. As education is a privilege and very important, this isyour child’s way of giving you the very best letter they are able.Wait to send your next letter until you receive a response from your sponsored member. This gives your sponsored member a chance to respond to your letter and ask you questions as well.
