COMMODORES REPORT
Hi fellow members,
I am writing this report sitting in front of the fire its that cold, boy between crap fishing weather and this cold spell we can’t seem to get it right. We did cater for two more comps after the end of the season but that was not to be.
Quite a few members have headed up north for their annual trek and the town is quieting down, but life goes on. The club is quiet but is still ticking along at a reasonable rate with the kitchen still open at this stage.
The dart season is nearly finished but mixed darts has started and was enjoyed by all that attended, so much so that they have requested a once a month shot at the pot. These are held on a Saturday afternoon at 2pm, we have the footy going as well so come enjoy these arvos. Les Ryan came up with his yearly pilgrimage of dart players, who had a great time and contributed to club, Thanks Les for this they are really a great bunch of blokes and a lot of fun, see you next year
Malcolm is back from his South Australian trip and settled back into Lancelin life, and as always offered his services. Yvonne & I spent 7 days in Bali or should I say bliss. But you can’t get away from Lancelin as half of them were over there., Our hearts go out to the 5 or 6 members that have to go to Coral Bay for a week or so fishing , what a hard life some people have.
It’s that time of year again when our beloved Treasurer has been kind enough to send us all a bill and believe it or not these help keep our Club on the right track. Every year we like to upgrade and improve our Club premises, so guys please send in your membership fees ASAP it would be greatly appreciated.
People don’t forget that the new hours in winter include Saturday open from 5pm to close with meals. Saturday nights are proving popular with the Parmi and fish night.
As we know that there is no fishing period coming up so it’s a good time to overhaul the boat and all your fishing gear, ready for the new season.
I have not got much more to add except to thank members, fisher people, staff and all who have helped us through the season and look forward to the next and pray for better weather.
I wish you all the best

Rear Commodore Report
Well, what can we say about the last season??!! Not a great deal of positives with very few comps actually held.
It all started when Moore decided to bring in the demersal fish closure, so the first 3 comps were restricted to a bay format with one, a Wedge to Ledge comp not well accepted.
The weather was rather unkind to us with several comps cancelled due to strong winds, this in a summer that was the hottest, driest summer for several decades.
The several comps that were held were well attended by competitors and others at the weigh ins. I can’t say too much about some of the great catches this year, you will have to wait till the presentations but enough to say there were several new club records achieved which does go to show there are still fish about.
I will say more at another time but a special Thanks to all our sponsors, without them we would not only not have comp days but a much poorer club as well. I do have a couple of new sponsors coming on board for next season but anyone knowing someone, a company, business whatever that may like to sponsor please let me know.
Many thanks to Tera for always being there ready to help and open the bar for a drink for you guys.
It was also pleasing to see several new members during the year.
Thanks for your participation and let’s hope next season will be a bit better, fishing wise.
Tight lines and catch you soon.
