Concerns about ‘Heaven is so Real’ The true church of Jesus Christ will always hold true to the doctrine:

'The Bible is the inspired Word of God'

Nothing can be allowed to add, subtract, or pervert the Bible

1. Just a sample of some of the deep concerns other Christians have listed about ‘Heaven is so Real’:

1. Absence of the Father. 2. Nothing in the book that vivid imagination could not have thought up. No evidence of supernatural revelation. 3. Character of Jesus very “human” unlike John’s vision in Revelation 1. 4. Heaven appears “earthy”, e.g., mansion with bathroom and bedroom, beach house and car. 5. Choo Nam presented as superior – focus more on her than on Jesus. 6. Familiarity with Jesus – hugging, holding hands, holding arm etc. 7. Presence of death in heaven e.g., cooking the fish. 8. Confusion – is hell a part of heaven? 9. Contradicts Scripture First, Jesus tells Choo to build His church yet he said, “I will build my church.” Second, emphasis on the book she is to write. In the story of the rich man and Lazarus Abraham said, “They have Moses and the prophets.” 10. Very repetitive. 11. She keeps saying how she missed Jesus. Did He not say, “I will never leave you”? We walk by faith, not by sight. 12. Before her meetings with Jesus she had times of severe shaking so that she could not be with her husband. How Biblical is that! Demonic? 13. Faces of demons flying behind the Lord’s head. 14. Why did she and Jesus have to keep changing their clothes when they entered heaven? 15. A married woman was separated from her husband. 16. She stepped past her pastor on platform. 17. What about resurrection power? 18. Naked aborted baby warehouse. 19. Arrogance and self-exaltation. 20. Manifestations seem to be demonic possession or Kundalini arousal. 21. Undercuts authority of Bible. 22. Devil appeals to pride.

2. Before reading ‘Heaven is so Real’ I did some investigating about the author Choo Thomas. First, she believed the Rapture would take place in 2007. Second, she sent out an urgent message on February 17, 2009 stating that the Tribulation had begun.

3. There are so many other good solid Christian books out there that do not present a problem. These books comfort, exhort, and edify (see 1 Corinthians 14:3). Why is it that so many other Christians when they finished reading ‘Heaven is so Real’ they reported having a knot in their stomach and felt a filthiness from touching it? Many report that they could not even finish reading the book because it made them sick. The Ephesians burned all their books that presented a problem in Acts 19:19. We can take some sound advice from them.

4. Jesus had to go away (John 16:7) so the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12 & 14) could come and dwell in us along with the continuation of ministering angels (Revelation 21:9). That’s why we are told in Matthew 24:23-28, not to heed when someone says, “Here is Christ”.

5. Jesus was received into glory and sits at the right hand of the Father (1 Timothy 3:16 and Acts 2:34). He stood to receive the first martyr, Stephen (Acts 7:56). All we are waiting for is for Jesus to come back again (Revelation 11:17 & 22:20). And no one knows that day or hour (Matthew 25:13). The times and the seasons are in God the Father’s hands (Acts 1:7).

6. Hebrews Chapter 1 verses 3- 4 & 13-14 make it clear that Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father until His time comes to set foot back on Earth. Until then, His angels (messengers) do the ministering. We are reminded in Hebrews 13:2, “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”

7. We are warned to beware, even if an angel from heaven comes to us. Galatians 1:8-9 says, “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”

8. Our God is not a god of confusion and fear (2 Timothy 1:7). Her book definitely makes one confused. 9. We need to take serious the warnings for whoever adds or takes away from the Word of God (Rev 22:18-19). 10. Deception of even the very elect, if it were possible, is predicted in the ‘end times’(Matthew 24:24). 11. The following is from Chapter 4: We sat down on the sand near the edge of the ocean. As the waves ebbed and

flowed in front of us, an amazing thing happened. The edge of the water turned to blood. A dark red, foaming surf surged in front of us. It seemed as if the blood was filthy, and I asked, “Why is the blood so dirty?” “It is My blood, Choo Nam,” He said. “It has washed away all the sins of My children.” The following is from Chapter 5: The next stop was the beach, where I noticed the water was a dirty bloodlike color once again. The edge of the sand, where the waves had washed up, was dirty and blood-colored, too. “It is My blood,” the Lord told me again. Two great hymns of the Church from the 1800’s based on scriptural truths are ‘Nothing but the Blood of Jesus’ and ‘There is Power in the Blood’. Just sing these two soul stirring hymns in worship and you will know that Jesus’ blood is nothing short of pure and precious. But Choo tells us there is a repulsive dirty ocean of her jesus’ blood.

12. To further add, the ocean and the river (Which is it?) of Jesus’ dirty blood, which Choo refers to many times, is contrary to what Scripture teaches. First, Jesus’ blood is incorruptible. 1 Peter 1:18-19 says, ” Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” Second, “Revelation 21:1 tells us that there will be no more sea in Heaven. The sea has always been a symbol of separation, which in Heaven we will no longer have separation. Third, Psalm 103:12 says, “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” So what are our sins floating around in an ocean of Jesus’ dirty blood in Choo’s vision of Heaven?

13. In Chapter 6 Choo adds to the Word of God by revealing a third place where people will spend eternity (like Roman Catholic Purgatory). She describes it as a barren lifeless place (two valleys) where disobedient Christians wearing sand-colored robes will have to spend eternity.

14. The most shocking warped view in Choo Thomas’ book was in the 7th chapter where the jesus in her book says, “I trust you implicitly.” John 2:24-25 says, “But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, and needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.”

15. Studying the ‘Generals of the Christian Faith’ reveal three important warnings: 1 All glory is to be given to Jesus. 2 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good (1 Thessalonians 5:21). 3 The Written Word is sufficient.

16. Choo Thomas took it for granted that it was Jesus who appeared to her. 2 Corinthians 11:14 tells us that even Satan can appear as an angel of light and minister of righteousness. 1 John 4:2-3 gives the test where the spirit must state that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.

17. Choo Thomas goes to great length to record how the jesus of her book praises her and how very important her book is and how he is waiting for her to finish it.

18. Here is a quote from her jesus in Chapter 10, “You will be a surprise to all the churches, a joy to those ready and waiting for Me and sad news to those who love the world more than Me. This book will help to deliver many people who are in spiritual darkness.” Ephesians 6:10-20 lays out the plan on how to battle spiritual darkness. Her book is not the answer. Prayer and the Word of God are at the heart of spiritual warfare.

19. This is from Chapter 11: Then the Lord called me over to sit next to Him. I put my hand under His arm, and my face on His shoulder, then I began to cry. Then we returned to earth and walked along the beach. We sat on the shore, and I put my arm under His and said, “I love You, Lord.” “I love you, My precious daughter,” He responded in a voice that was filled with happiness. As we stood, the Lord embraced me and then departed. The Lord is more friendly and loving each time I see Him. I remember at first, He didn’t hug me or call me His daughter or use any other sweet words. Now He calls me many sweet names. I feel He is very comfortable with me.” The book gives the delusional impression that her and her jesus are dating each other. Eight times the jesus of her book calls her ‘sweetheart’. Philippians 2:10-11 says, “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” This is only at the mention of Jesus’ name. How much more in reverence will we be in His presence? Remember, it is to the glory of God the Father. Where is God the Father in her book?

20. Chapter 12 describes an endless sea in heaven, “Around a little curve in the road I noticed a massive ocean that was so vast that it appeared to have no end. As we neared the waterfront, I noticed a high rock wall that had steps leading

down to the shoreline. We went up the wall and walked down the steps. The edge of the sea was filled with boats, large and small. It was a marina in heaven.” Revelation 21:1 says clearly, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.” To John, the sea meant separation, but we are assured that there will be no more separation in Heaven!

21. Revelation 21:4a says, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain.” But Choo mentions many times about crying in Heaven.

22. Revelation 21:4b says, “For the former things are passed away.” This is a very important portion of Scripture. Choo’s book dwells on the things that people lust over on this earth such as expensive homes, yachts, wardrobes (changing of clothes), wonderful powder rooms, and delicacies to feast on. Jesus told us in the Sermon on the Mount not to worry about those things. If I am to believe her book, how can I not think on these things. By thinking on these things, it cannot but transfer to a desire for them while still on this earth. All these things appeal to the natural man. But I have a soul and spirit within this human body that lives on for eternity. Revelation 21:4 & 22-23 says,” And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.” This is what appeals to the spiritual man. We only get a glimpse of God’s presence when we worship here on this earth. But when we get to Heaven, as the song ‘I can Only Imagine’ tries to comprehend, our Lord’s presence will be overwhelming!

23. In Chapter 13 the jesus of her book says, “You will be very surprising to many people, because I chose a daughter instead of a son for this End-Time work. I realize many daughters are more pure-hearted than sons and are very pleasing to Me. Through you many daughters will be happy. I plan to give a special anointing to many daughters for End-Time work, and they must prepare to receive it.” 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 says very powerfully,” But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” 1 Timothy 2:12-14 goes on to say,” But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.”

24. In Chapter 13 the jesus of her book also says, “Even faithful Christians doubt that there really is a kingdom of heaven. I want all of My doubting children to believe My kingdom is real. This will lead them to be more faithful, obedient and pure of heart so that they can enter My kingdom.” I have not yet met a true Christian who does not believe there really is a kingdom of heaven. The Book of Revelation gives us a glimpse of the magnificence of Heaven. The Epistles of Paul instruct us how to be more faithful, obedient and pure of heart, not a human book that tries to take precedence over the true Word of God.

25. The New Testament has the name of Jesus Christ almost on every page. The jesus of Choo’s book says many times, “This is my book.” But almost every page of her book is littered with ‘I’, ‘me’, and ‘my’ over and over and over again. To top it off, in Chapter 14, the jesus of her book says, “I will take care of everything. Just be happy for Me, My daughter. I want you to put your picture on the cover of the book.” Then Choo goes on to say, “He (her jesus) had shown me the finished product of the book that was occupying so much of my time and attention. It was beautiful, and its cover was so alluring.” Make no mistake that Harry Potter books are alluring, but The Word of God is powerful.

26. In Chapter 14, Choo makes a blatant statement putting her book on the same level as the Bible, “As Isaiah testified: “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it” (55:11). And I knew that the same thing would hold true for the book He had asked me to write for Him. It will not return to Him void. It will prosper, and it will accomplish the purposes He has for it to accomplish. Like John, I had been called to write, and my mission was the same as his.”

27. Everything we need to know about Heaven, Hell, and living a holy life has already been revealed to us by the completed Bible. The Bible is the only infallible Word of God. Probably the most beautiful collection of jewels in the world is the Crown Jewels of England, which I have seen. The Bible tells me that the most precious jewels on earth will be like dirt in heaven. What a prelude of Heaven this gives me. All I need to do is put my hand on a hot stove to have a prelude of what Hell will be like. These two earthly experiences are enough to allow my imagination to soar and realize I want to make Heaven my home and Hell to avoid at all cost. Putting into practice: prayer, fasting and reading the Word of God are what causes me to lead a life of holiness, not reading a man inspired book. God set limits on what we are to know and what we are not to know. Our curiosity must be kept in control, because Satan will always tempt us to go beyond our limits. Acts 1:6-7 says, “When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.”

28. In Chapter 15 Choo states, “We went to the usual rock that served as our resting place on these trips to the beach. I always sit on His left side and either hold His hand or put my hand under His arm.” This statement really scares me because Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father, meaning that the Father is at His left. Isaiah 14:14 says of Lucifer,” I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.” Who really is this jesus that Choo sits with? Is it just limited to Choo’s imagination or is it Satan himself. Paul warns us in 2 Corinthians 10:5, “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”

29. At the beginning of Chapter 15 Choo states,” I failed to look at the clock. After a while, the Lord entered the bedroom window and sat in His usual place.” After Jesus’ resurrection and before His Ascension, He just appeared in the disciples’ midst and did not need to climb thru a window. Jesus warns us with emphasis in John 10:1, “ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.”

30. In many ways ‘Heaven is so Real’ is much like the Jehovah Witness cult. The Jehovah Witnesses use their own New World Translation bible very well for their purposes, but they miss the all important fact that Jesus was Jehovah in the flesh. Just like the Jehovah Witnesses, Choo uses many Bible verses in her book and tries her best to sell us a human jesus and an earthly heaven.

31. In Chapter 16 Choo tells us about someone who questioned her about being shown so vividly her mother suffering torment in Hell and why would Jesus do that. Instead of treating it as a legitimate question, she tells us, “I was shocked by this ungodly question.” Choo makes her true feelings very clear about anyone who questions her book and does not swallow the whole thing.

32. Now a few of the shocking statements she makes in the closing chapters of Part 1 of her book: “I want you to build my church.”, the jesus of her book tells her. “He (jesus) is angry toward those who do not believe. That is why he has commissioned me to write this book.” “Every word in this book is true.” “I have seen the same things the Apostle John saw.” “Now that you have read these pages, you are accountable for the truth that has been imparted.”

33. In Part 2 of her book, starting with Chapter 17, Choo begins the bazaar explanation of what her jesus must put her through in order to prepare her for her so-called ministry. She calls them body-work sessions. She counts the exact amount of times everything must be done to her with precision. She says, “My physical body responds with violent shaking, jerking, intense heat, groans, and supernatural power that causes my body to be lifted up. When these things happen, my voice takes on a quality of freight, and I become breathless. Before these things occur, the unusual spiritual voice comes forth from deep within me.” In Chapter 20 Choo explains to us, “He (the jesus of her book) pointed out that salvation is an unmerited gift of His grace, but receiving other special gifts requires hard work.” The only way I know how to describe all of her accounts is ’Ritualistic Torture’ that borders on demonic. When the Church began, the rituals of the Old Testament were done away with, for even the curtain of the Holy of Holies was rent in two. Acts 15:28-29 says, “For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well.” Acts 21:25 re-iterates it to show how important it is, “As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.” Her accounts are in direct contradiction to the simplicity in Christ (2 Corinthians 11:3). Matthew 17 contains the story of the one who was vexed by the Devil and thrown into fire and water. Then, in Luke 8, we learn of the ‘Madman of Gadara’. In both of these instances, after Jesus rebuked the Devil, these two individuals were at peace. To top it off, the former ‘Madman of Gadara’ sat at Jesus’ feet. He wanted to go with Jesus, but Jesus told him to return to his house and show everyone around him the great thing God did for him. He was so effective that when Jesus came back to the same region, which He was asked to leave, people welcomed Him openly.

34. In Chapter 17 Choo says, “He stood before me with His hands stretched out in the form of a cross. As before, my body responded by stretching out, and it too took the shape of a cross. The power was so heavy that I felt I would die. I felt breathless and I cried throughout it. I could not tell how much time had elapsed, but I knew it must have been a long time because my arms were stretched out as far as they could be, and it was very painful. This vision of His crucifixion and my identification with it was over. In some small measure, I actually felt the pain He had experienced, and I cried in the anguish of my soul in a way that must have been what He experienced.” Just before His crucifixion Jesus says in John 13:33, “Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come.” Jesus faced the pain of the cross alone. No human will ever experience what

Jesus did. The Father had to turn away from the Son because of the sin He bore. Then Choo tells us, “When I saw his crucified body, he looked very handsome.” Isaiah 53:2 says, “And when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him.”

35. Choo never leaves us dry of shocking statements. Here is another one from Chapter 17, “I could see the faces of demons all over the room. Though they were gross and intimidating, I did not fear them. I would see them flying behind the Lord’s head, but when I rebuked them, they instantly departed.” Here are two more statements from Chapter 18 which the jesus of her book tells her. First, “Choo, you are living proof of My Word and My prophecies.” Second, “Choo, the world is yours.” Wasn’t the world offered to Jesus by the devil in Luke 4:5-7?

36. In Chapter 19 Choo tells us, “He removed all ungodly influences (including people) from my life.” Choo presents a holier-than-thou attitude throughout her book. Even though Jesus was pure when He walked the earth, He was found amongst the sinners. Mark 16:15 says, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

37. A very troubling issue also arises in Chapter 19. Choo says, “At the time I experienced the visions and other supernatural phenomena, I did not know the Scriptures well enough to know where such information could be found. I felt almost blinded to the truth.” When she asked the jesus of her book, “Why did you choose me?”, the answer was, “It is because you are so teachable.” 1 Timothy Chapter 3 makes it clear that anyone to be considered for office must not be a novice and must know the Scriptures in order to be able to teach others.

38. As we go into Part 3 of her book and Chapter 22, Choo makes the bold statements of what the jesus of her book tells her with nothing to back it up. First, “You are ordained by your Lord.” Second, “Heaven is so Real will be the last chance for people to realize how soon I am coming for my people.”

39. In her preface, she tells us many times about her transformed body (wearing many different robes and many different crowns), but 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 says, “For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” Then 1 Corinthians 15:52-55 says, “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” In other words, no one will receive their transformed body until the Rapture.

40. Joel 2:4 and Acts 2:17 say, “Your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.” To have a vision or a dream of Jesus fits prophecy. But Choo makes it clear that what she had was far above that. She labels it as ‘experiences’ and describes it physically. The word ‘experience’ is used 161 times in her book.

41. Some key things to think about: 1 Revelation 1:1 Jesus Christ sent and signified it by His angel unto His servant John. 2 Revelation 1:10 John was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, not a transformed body like Choo’s. 3 2 Corinthians 12:1-10 Paul’s experience was unspeakable. 4 1 Corinthians 12:10 The body of Christ is given the gift of discerning of spirits.

42. We are instructed many times in the New Testament to discern and test, while God will judge the intent of the heart. 43. Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing

even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Doctors will tell you that it is difficult to see where the bone ends and the marrow begins. Did someone prophesy from the spirit or from the imagination? Or even worse, is it from the enemy?

44. It is left unto us to hold onto what is good and true (Philippians 4:8). 1 Corinthians 14:32 says, “And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.” Choo quotes her jesus as saying, “ I am giving you all the spiritual gifts. I am releasing your spirit so you will be completely free to serve Me.” But the Word of God tells us in 1 Corinthians Chapter 12 that as far as spiritual gifts are concerned, to one is given one gift and to another is given another gift. There must be unity of the body of Christ. Not that one person would have everything, thus actually being disunity. That would cause the attention to be on one person rather than on Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:4 says, “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.” Clearly the Church is a body of believers.

45. Choo repeated over and over about a special releasing of power to her. The impression that is given to the reader is that it is superior to the power that is already available to all Christians that was first poured out on the day of Pentecost.

46. Jesus and the Apostles spoke with authority as we are told in Mark1:22 and Acts 4:13. But, Choo lacks that authority in her book. Over and over again she is in a defensive mode that is weaved throughout her book of deception. Her clarity is so marred at times that she gets caught in her own ramblings.

47. After Jesus rose from the dead, He set limits on His appearances and who touched Him. Before that, John leaned his head on Jesus’ shoulder, but in the book of Revelation there was a reverent distance set.

48. In Acts 10:34, we are told that the Lord is no respecter of persons, but Choo tells us many times that her jesus refers to her as being his very special daughter. Doing a word search in her book for the word ‘special’ is shocking to reveal how many times the word is used and in what ways. It appears that everything about Choo is ‘special’ and we are told this over and over again. The Lord warns us in Isaiah 42:8, " I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images."

49. So why raise concern about the book ‘Heaven is so Real’? Why not be a good non-judgmental (non-discerning) American Christian? Here is why, in the author Choo Thomas’ own words, “Heaven is so Real is our Lord Jesus’ end time book. He only used my body to write this book. He wants all believers and unbelievers to read it and prepare for His coming. He said, He is giving people a chance to know what it takes to enter His Kingdom through this book. Remember, none of our salvations are secure until the end. We must do our best while we have a chance. This book is a great tool for the salvation of souls. Whoever reads this book and is convicted by it, they are sharing with others. Some get dozens and hundreds to give away. The book is our Lord Jesus’ end time book and He wants all Christians to read it and witness with it to others so they can prepare for His coming. It is changing thousands of lives. This book is for two kinds of people, those who want to go to heaven and those who love the world. So, not everyone will be interested in his book. Currently over 55 countries are translating and re-printing this book and most of the translations are being done by pastors who were transformed by the book after reading it. Dr. David Yonggi Cho translated the book after reading it three times and it was the #1 bestseller in Korea. All these things are happening because it is our Lord’s book. It is truly an end time book. The book is an International best seller and is on the charismatic best seller list in the US. Whoever shares this book with others, God will bring a great blessing to you.” Now in my words, “What Choo Thomas just said should cause any true Christian to sound the alarm. This book borders on blasphemy. It undermines the sufficiency and authority of God’s Word the Bible. When she states that we must do our best while we have a chance, it goes on to undermine salvation by grace. She states that Jesus only used her body to write this book. Her delusions in the book made me think her and Jesus were dating. The last four verses of the Bible sum it all up by telling us: If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”

50. Only by devouring the Word of God can we be truly fed. No book of man can satisfy that hunger. Hebrews 5:13-14 says, “For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

51. The downfall of PTL and Jimmy Swaggart Ministries are lessons to learn from. 52. CBN and TBN have too broad of a filter. They broadcast programs that pay for the time slots even though they may

contain dangerous doctrines and appeal to itching ears. Local Pastors are to love their sheep and are responsible to filter out any bad doctrines. By the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses in the local body, it is confirmed.

53. Three dangerous gods to beware of: god of imagination, god of self-esteem, god who is a genie. 54. Gen 11:6 (Tower of Babel) “Nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.”

Romans 11:33, Isaiah 55:8-9, Deuteronomy 29:29 God’s ways are higher, but man goes beyond his boundaries especially with the imagination as in ‘Heaven is so Real’. 1 Corinthians 2:16 We already have the mind of Christ to live out our lives. 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is for instruction. It is the completed Word of God.

55. Understand the heart of Jesus. Jesus wept (John 11:35) because of the lack of belief of the people. He was not angry with them as Choo would have us believe. Jesus only arose in righteous anger when He was zealous for the House of God because of the abuses that were taking place, both at the beginning of His earthly ministry (John 2:14-17) and at the end of His earthly ministry (Matthew 21:12 & Mark 11:15-16).

56. Three dangerous practices that can be found in God’s House today: false spiritual reasoning, looking for new revelation, and feeding the god of our imaginations. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 says, “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.” Luke 21:8 sums it all up by saying, “And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.”

In Conclusion: When the Holy Spirit gives discernment, there are certain Bible verses that ring out in one’s head and hit like a

freight train. There were two portions of Scripture that rang out in my head as I began reading thru ‘Heaven is so Real’. One was Luke 16:27-31 which says, “Then he (the rich man) said, I pray thee therefore, father (Abraham), that thou wouldest send him (the beggar Lazarus) to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.” Jesus makes it clear in Luke 16 that Scripture is sufficient and does not depend on someone coming back from Heaven or Hell to testify.

The other portion of Scripture that rang out in my head was Acts 1:11 which says, “Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” The two messengers make it clear that Jesus is not setting foot back on earth until the appointed time when He enters Jerusalem from Mount Olivet to the east. The Ottoman Turks sealed up Jerusalem’s eastern gate in 1530AD because they knew of the Christian prophecy. ‘Heaven is so Real’ wants us to believe that Jesus set foot back on earth multiple times solely to take the author to Heaven and Hell and she is now back to persuade mankind. Let’s step it up a notch. Could you imagine the testimony the beggar Lazarus would have had if allowed to come back from the dead to try and persuade the rich man’s brothers? Wow, I am sure the brother’s would have recognized him as the one who begged at their brother’s gate and died. It definitely would have shaken them to the core seeing someone come back from the dead. But Jesus assures us that the testimony of Scripture is sufficient. Thank God, that after Jesus’ ascension, He gave the church two more precious gifts. We now have the Holy Spirit to help woo us to Him through the Scriptures, and we have the completed Scriptures we call the Bible. We truly are without excuse. Creation itself testifies. Romans 1:20 says, “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.” The undertones of the message the author of ‘Heaven is so Real’ tries to convince us over and over again is that she is so very special, everything she possesses is so very special. everything she does is so very special, and above all that Jesus is so very dependent upon her book and her persuasion. The Bible is clear that God is not dependent upon any man or woman. As Romans 3:4 says, “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written.” The good news of the Gospel must first be published among all nations (Mark 13:10) before Jesus comes. If one person fails, God will rise up another because He is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). The Bible goes on to say in John 2:24-25, “But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, and needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.” Right in the Introduction of the book I detected a misuse of Scripture from Joel 2:28-30 where the word heavens (meaning the sun and moon in the sky as defined in verse 31) was used to try and validate her experiences in Heaven. Then, as I finished up the book, certain questions would not leave me. First, the church that Choo and her husband Roger were attending for 4 years while she had all the experiences, they ended up leaving. The pastor grabbed her arm one day and took her back to her seat. This one bad incident, by her admission, caused her and her husband to leave that church. Did her pastor finally realize that things had gotten too out of line? Second, by Choo’s own admission she did not know Scripture very well. As I read the book, I knew that she had gotten a lot of her ideas for her experiences from watching TV. Not until the end of the book does she describe the avenue of how her manuscript got published. She mailed numerous copies out to many different TV ministries. She admitted that she supported a lot of these ministries financially. What is the full extent of the spiritual dangers of things that are being aired by TBN and CBN that pervert the Bible and feed itching ears? Third, Choo tells of all the special preparation, special experiences, special annointings, special gifts, special powers, special revelations, and even the special keys she has received. She tells us when she gets involved with a ministry, the Lord eventually stops her. Where are the fruits of all of these special things she now possesses? Fourth, the book is literally riddled with contradictions to Scripture and presents a different jesus from the Bible. This cannot be overlooked just because there are some sound Scriptural references and advice in the book. A lie cannot be overcome by adding a certain measure of truth. 1 Corinthians 5:6 says, “Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?” How can some churches still endorse it? There are many good solid Christian books out there where there are no ill undertones or hidden agendas. What is written in these books does not conflict with Scripture, but only expounds upon Scripture and re-enforces it so it can be applied to our Christian walk. I am not left to feel that I am in the wrong if I choose not to believe everything that is written in them. Whereas when I finished reading ‘Heaven is so Real’, the author tries her best to make me feel I am a bad Christian if I choose not to believe what is written in the book. It is a condemnation I have to shake off rather than a conviction of the Holy Spirit. The work of the Devil is condemnation. But thank God for the reminder He gives us in John 8:32, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Amen and Amen!
