REFLECTIONS…

As we pass the midway point of 2013, we are mindful of what God is doing in this congregation. We launched the “Creating Space” initiative in January, focusing our attention and resources on three main movements: GO (short-term missions), CONNECT (community outreach), and EMBRACE (welcoming guests). Already, the church has sent groups on six different Edmond-sponsored mission trips throughout the world. This fall, we will introduce the “Connect Challenge” to help us better reach our neighbors and coworkers with the love and message of Christ. Additionally, our new welcome books and section greeters are helping us become more hospitable to our guests. There is still much to do, but God is working powerfully in this church to accomplish good things.

Our next Commission Sunday, which provides financial support for our short-term missions and full-time missionaries, is August 25. Together, our sacrificial offerings can provide the necessary resources for us to boldly take the gospel into the world.

You will want to be here for our three week series on World Religions beginning Sunday evening, July 24. Local scholars will join me for important conversations about Islam, Buddhism, and other emerging religions. Invite others to join you.
