TECHNICAL HANDBOOK PURPOSE

The FIG Code of Points and Technical Regulations, and the Gymnastics Australia Technical Regulations, provide governance for Aerobic Gymnastics. This handbook provides Aerobic Gymnastics in NSW with Technical Regulations, competition rules and apparatus specifications as well as general information.

SPORTS PROGRAMS

The following sports program categories apply to Aerobic Gymnastics: LEVELS STREAM

For athletes whose primary incentive for participating follows the four F’s philosophy (fun, fitness, friendship and fundamentals)

INTERNATIONAL STREAM

For athletes who aspire to represent their country in international competitions

1. THAT ATHLETES/COACHES CHOOSE THEIR “STREAM” OF COMPETITION AT THE BEGINNING OF THE COMPETITION YEAR AND REMAIN WITHIN THIS STREAM FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR.

2. Athletes cannot compete in both streams of competition.

3. Athletes who compete in the International stream would be eligible for National Squad selection and subsequent international assignment. Development Squad athletes will be considered for National Squad selection pending re-evaluation by the Selection Committee.

4. The aim of the two streams is twofold:-

i. To create a strong participation base that provides sequential

and challenging pathways for Aerobic Gymnastics participants

ii. To develop and nurture world class athletes with the ability to win medals at international events

The International Stream of competition divisions will be exactly as stated in the 2013-2016 FIG Code of Points
