2017 National Specialty Best of Breed winner, who was also Best Field

Dog and Best Canadian Bred:

“Sedona” Can NSS MBPIS GCH Bianca's BrazosRiver Sedona

NAVHDA NA pz II

A repeat breeding to our singleton Quincy. Bringing back old Columbia

River lines of Placer Country Rocket Red Glare. Sedona debuted at the

AKC show in January 2017, taking BO over specials, BPIG for her first

points. Her next show was Red Deer where she took BB, BPIG and Group

1 to finish her championship. We attended the USA National in May at

Lawrence Kansas where she was awarded 9-12 at the Regional Show

then Reserve Winners Bitch over 50+ dogs. Returning to Canada she was

awarded BPIS multiple times before attending the Canadian Nationals.

The day before the National she was awarded BB as a puppy by judge

and sporting breeder Judith Taylor at the Westwinds Sporting Dog

Specialty show in honour of the late William (Mitch) Ferguson. She went

on to win Group 4th and Puppy Group. On Saturday Sedona was awarded

BB at the all-breed show and Quincy best opposite under Michael Gelinas.

Such a surprise and honour she was awarded the 2017 Canadian National

and best Field Bitch, by Australian judge Di Jovanovic on her

first birthday in wonderful company of seasoned/titled dogs. Recently we

attended the GSPC of WA specialty show going WB/BOW for her first

4 points US Major and Sunday WB again for two points.

In the field she was awarded her first leg of her Field Dog Junior and in

August she won the coveted NAVDHA Prize II proving she has beauty and

brains of the versatile GSP. Thank you to all who appreciated this lovely

bitch.

Message from the Show Committee

The 2017 National Specialty Show Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the success of this year’s Specialty. We had a fantastic entry for the National and Regional Specialties of over 50 beautiful GSPs. As you all know these shows cannot be coordinated and held successfully without many hands – we would like to thank all of the volunteers for their participation, as well as every person/business who donated funds and/or goods to make the shows a success. This is a great example of fellow fanciers working together to showcase the breed we all love so much. After the Specialty held in conjunction with the EKKOC shows near Calgary, we celebrated the day together with the Weimaraner Association of Canada members with a fabulous potluck dinner, auction and raffle draw. A lovely evening was enjoyed by all in attendance. The committee congratulates all of the winners and the participants for a job well done!

Silent Auction & Saturday Club Dinner

Following the National Specialty on Saturday, the GSPCC put on a

potluck dinner in conjunction with the Weimaraner Club of Canada. What

a feast for all in attendance!

Club members and friends attending the show held a silent auction

which raised lots of $$$ for the GSPCC. Thank you to all who bid on the

fabulous items and donated items for the auction! Up for bid were dog

beds, a camping basket, jewelry, show leads, GSP-adorned items and

other thoughtful items.

Also on the auction block were the custom-made 1st to 4th place

show markers: wooden dog dish holders, beautifully made by Dale

Schindel.
