Dear All, OSA sends you warm wishes as you head in to the home stretch. This email will hit upon a few graduation‐related items and some post‐graduation ones as well. We’ll send out ‘day‐of’ instructions during the week of June 11, so be on the lookout for that.
GRADUATION ITEMS NAME COACH Many of you have already recorded your NameCoach pronunciation in Axess (thank you!). For those of you who haven’t, you should have received an invitation through the NameCoach system to ask that you record your name and include the phonetic spelling. If you have any doubts about my ability to pronounce your name properly (or even if you don’t), please take the time to complete this step. LAW SCHOOL GRADUATION CEREMONY Saturday, June 16, 11:15AM – 1:15PM, Canfield Courtyard The Law School’s graduation ceremony will take place in Canfield Courtyard (i.e., the lawn between the Law School and Meyer Green). Graduating students will line up in the classroom building at 10:30 a.m. No tickets are required, but please RSVP* for seating and catering purposes. There is no limit to the number of guests you can invite, however, please use some discretion. Our rule of thumb is six guests per graduate. *Please RSVP even if you don’t have an exact number of guests as we need to get an approximate count for seating and catering purposes. You do not need to notify us if your guest count changes, unless it is +/‐ 4 or more.
UNIVERSITY COMMENCEMENT Sunday, June 17, 9:30AM – 11:00AM, Stanford Stadium Join your classmates and the rest of the graduating students at the University for Commencement at Stanford Stadium. The ceremony starts at 9:30 a.m. The Commencement speaker is Stanford alum Sterling K. Brown. ‘Day of’ instructions are available online: https://commencement.stanford.edu/ceremony‐instructions‐advanced‐degree‐candidates and in the attached document. Note that the university refers to all graduate students (JD, LLM, JSM, and JSD) as ‘advanced degree.’
POST GRADUATION CONCERNS This section covers the following topics:
Your Email Accounts and SUNet IDs

YOUR EMAIL ACCOUNTS AND SUNET IDS Your Stanford email account and SUNet ID will remain active for approximately 120 days after commencement, but youcan set up a free Stanford email account offered through the Stanford Alumni Association (https://alumni.stanford.edu/). Creating an alumni account also gives you the option of creating an @stanford.org email, which can be read on the Webor can be automatically forwarded to the account that you use frequently. To create your account, all you need is 5 minutes and your 10‐digit Stanford student ID number. Visit the alumni webpage and click ‘register’ in the top right corner. The Alumni Directory is a great way to network with other alumni, plus the information you store in your profile is themain mechanism used by the Alumni Office to help you stay connected to other alumni groups, both regionally andaffinity‐based. When you edit your alumni profile, there are opportunities to self‐identify among a number of dimensions, so the moreinformation you share, the more robust we can make our alumni communications with you. This includes sharing yourrace / ethnicity data so you can learn more about upcoming alumni‐related diversity and inclusion programing. You can continue to use the law‐graduation18@lists to send messages to your classmates until mid‐October. The listserv expires when your email accounts expire. For more information on your SUNet IDs and your email accounts, please visit the ITSS website at: https://itservices.stanford.edu/service/emailcalendar/email/graduates ACCESS TO LAW LIBRARY Graduating students who wish to use the Law Library over the summer are eligible for a Stanford Law Library Alum ID (signup here). The card comes with Law Library access and Law Library borrowing for life. The card will also grant you 24 hours/7 days a week access to Law Library’s 2nd floor reading room until Tuesday, July 31, 2018. Applications for your Stanford Law Library Alum ID are available now. You will be contacted by the library when your card is ready for pick‐up. Cards can be mailed to your summer address if so indicated on the application. The application requires your personalemail address and not your @stanford email, which expires post‐graduation. The Stanford Law Library Alum ID application is linked here and resides on the library "access" page. You can also pick up a hard copy of the application form from the Law Library's loan desk. PLEASE NOTE: The Law Library will be undergoing a partial renovation of the first floor this summer. The first floor will beclosed from June 18th through the completion of the project. The second floor of the library will be open. ACCESS TO NEUKOM AND CROWN BUILDINGS Your access code to the Crown building after hours will remain active through Tuesday, July 31 (consistent with libraryaccess). For access to Neukom and 3rd floor rooms in Crown, you will need to take your Stanford Law Library Alum ID toFacilities (Room 146) and they will program it so you have access to those areas until July 31. Please note that you stillhave to adhere to the room reservation policy as many of these rooms are used over the summer for meetings andsummer events. ACCESS TO CAMPUS ATHLETIC FACILITIES You will be able to purchase daily gym/pool passes at a discount from the Registrar’s Office, Room 100 starting Monday, June 11. The Law School’s Alumni Relations Office subsidizes the cost so you only pay $5/day. No more than 20 passes can be purchased at a time. Bring an ID, cash or check to the Registrar’s office. Checks should be made payable to “Stanford University.” No credit cards and no refunds. For the golfers among you, we are sorry to report that you will not have student access to the course once the quarter ends. PARKING ON CAMPUS
3
If you need a campus parking permit for the summer, you will have to visit Parking and Transportation Services in person (340 Bonair Siding) and purchase one. Please take your Stanford ID with you, as they will manually look you up on the list of Class of 2018 that we will be providing them. LOCKERS AND MAILBOXES Please clean out your lockers and mailboxes after the bar exam so that we can get them ready for the new school year. Anything left behind after July 31 will be discarded or donated.
