9. Grievance Redressal Mechanism

Students: The Principal/HOD/Faculty meet the students directly once a week or month and

enquire them regarding the faculty performance, infrastructure, placement and training activities and

other facilities required. At any point of time, Students can meet Principal/HOD/GM for any kind of

Academic/Administrative issues. Students can submit their suggestions/complaints in suggestion box

available in ground floor near library.

Faculty: Principal meet department wise faculty in regular intervals of time and any grievance by

faculty will be redress through meeting. Also, Director interacts with HODs/Faculty at least twice in

every semester to discuss about academics, placements and other activities.

10. Involvement of faculty / students in academic affairs/ improvement

Faculty: The faculty members of GCEM are encouraged to pursue higher studies (Ph.D.,), to upgrade

their qualification & skills. They also attend FDP, workshops, conferences & seminars to enrich the

knowledge. The faculties are motivated to take MOOCs for improving their skills which is useful for

students in class room teaching. Most of the faculties got NTPEL certificates.

Students: The students meet the faculty members and HOD’s of the respective department’s

weekly/two weeks once through the students mentoring and CCM. Each department is conducting

PTM after each internal examination and also conducting remedial/tutorial classes for improvement of

the results.

The primary aim of IQAC is

Eligibility Criteria:

The candidate shall have passed the second year Pre-University or XII standard or equivalent

examination and shall have secured not less than 45% in the aggregate with Physics and Mathematics

as compulsory subjects, along with any one of the following subjects, namely, Chemistry, Bio-

Technology, Biology, Electronics and Computer Science Provided further that, the candidate shall

have studied and passed English as one of the subjects. However, in the case of candidates from

Karnataka belonging to SC/ST and other backward classes, the eligibility shall be 40%.

The library is member of the DELNET since last 5 years. It is being extensively used for ILL and

searching the database of other member libraries. The Library has 10 desktop with internet facility

through which the e-resources could be accessed.

The library is a member of the VTU E-Resources Consortia. The users of the Library can access

publications of all major publishers like Elsievier, Springer Nature, Taylor & Francis, Institution of

Civil Engineers(ICE), Emerald, McGraw Hill Education, New Age International, Packt, Knimbus,

Turnitin, NetAnalytiks. The users can access around 21113E-books and 7401 journals.

17. Training and Placement Cell

Gopalan College of Engineering and Management (GCEM) has an independent Placement

Cell.The objective of the Placement cell is to create VISION in the mindset of students about their

careers, Identify the talented and qualified professionals before they complete their Engineering

Graduation.

The Training and Placement Cell bridge the gap between the acclaimed academicians and Global

Scenario of the MNC / Industry. The main Aim of the Committee is Motivating the students to

undergo pre placement training, Internship training, Industrial Visit, and provided Guest Lecturer,

Workshops, Higher Education Summits, Conferences, Hackathons and Students Exchange Program

etc., and increasing their confidence level Organizing the On and Off Campus Interviews and

providing maximum support to place in the top MNC and Core Organizations.

As our college is situated in IT hub and Special Economic Zone (SEZ), most of the IT, Core

Engineering companies are concentrated here and our college is focused to cater the needs of the

leading companies.Potentiality of Job available more than 10 MNC organizations are part of our

Gopalan Global Axis Zone, and also, we have business contact with various organizations where our

technical skill graduate students job profile can be fit into their requirement.

We have a separate placement cell in the campus and constituted a Placement Committee,

Department Placement Coordinators from each department, associatively functioning as a single team

Conducting weekly meetings with Students Coordinators and Faculty Coordinators with the Principal

and Industry and Training Vendor and reviewing the progress of the placement activity and sending

the reports to the Principal on the regular basis.

Training and Placement Cell of GCEM sincerely believes in comprehensively training the students

to face the corporate world and have a successful professional career. The training program

encompasses a three stage process to train the students to make them ready for the industry and

develop the etiquettes of the corporate world.
