Save the Date! - The fall Children's Rally is on Saturday, Nov. 6th at Parchment Valley (we can provide transportation) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The theme this year is "It's a Zoo Out There!". The day is filled with fun and interactive lessons, energetic music, a child friendly lunch, and supports a mission project. Registration is $13 before Oct. 18th and $25 after the 18th. Don't let cost be a deterrent, however! Let me know if you would like your kiddo to participate in this opportunity to learn more about Jesus! As a reminder, all children's volunteers are invited and encouraged to attend our luncheon after church on October 24th in the Fellowship Hall. If you are interested in becoming a children's volunteer - you're invited too! We hope to see our whole wonderful volunteer team there! Breads and Beyond Bakery will be catering - yummo!

AWANA Needs You! - Attention all those who enjoy dressing-up and providing fun! On Wednesday, October 27th, during Awana, we'll be having another indoor "trunk or treat". Like last year, we're looking for volunteers to "sponsor" a table in the fellowship hall by decorating the table, planning and providing some very simple games at the table (think minute-it-to-win-it type games), and providing treats to hand-out to the Awana kids as they come thru. You are encouraged to dress-up as well! We'd be glad to reimburse you for any expenses. If this sounds like fun to you, let me [email protected] or text: 740.629.5434.

Youth News - Attention movie lovers! Tonight, we'll be watching Rocket Boys in the youth room starting at 6pm. We'll have all the movie snacks you can eat, including hot buttered popcorn! Get there on time--there won't be any coming attractions!

Mission Lunch for Latrobe St. Mission - Join us on October 17th for a mission luncheon to support our local Latrobe Street Mission. We will be serving homemade lasagna, salad, a side veggie, bread, and dessert. Please sign up to dine in or carry out so we know how many to expect!!

World Mission Offering - Through the month of October, we collect for the World Mission Offering. There are WMO giving envelopes and a WMO Prayer Guide on the Ministry Table.

Afternoon Secretary Position - The church is now accepting resumes for an Assistant Secretary to work in the afternoons 1-4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (15

hours/per week). We are looking for a member with strong secretarial skills, Microsoft (Word, Excel and Publisher) knowledge, along with some accounting experience. If you are interested, please send your resume via email to [email protected], via mail, or drop off at the Church Office by October 25.

Operation Christmas Child Charlotte Trip - EBC has reserved times to volunteer at the Operation Christmas Child shoebox processing center in Charlotte, NC December 9-11. We will leave around 7:30am Thursday and arrive in time for the 3:00-7:00 shift. On Friday we’ll work 9:00-1:00. Other activities are to be determined. We’ll return to EBC Saturday afternoon. Costs would be the hotel rooms, meals & transportation. We need to know by Sunday, November 7 who is going so we can work on travel/lodging arrangements. All volunteers must be at least 13 years old due to the warehouse environment. If you’re interested or have any questions, contact Brian Brown at [email protected] or 304-494-1895.

Facebook/ On-line Service Scam - On Sunday, September 26, Pastor Kurt was made aware that some people were using our Facebook Live to request money from our viewers by mentioning their needs and then posting a PayPal link. Another person was asking viewers of the Emmanuel on-line service to send them a friend request. Please do not respond to these requests for help/ money or friend requests during our on-line services. If you do, just have them email Pastor Kurt ([email protected]) or direct them to call the church office. Thanks.

Baptism - We will have a baptism service in October. Let Pastor Kurt know if you're interested.

New Giving Envelopes - The church is changing the way that we provide giving envelopes to the congregation. We are going to custom make the envelopes in the office and have them ready for you before the first of the year. If you use giving envelopes and would like to have some made, just email: [email protected] or call the office at (304)-485-5171. We can make them weekly, monthly, with or without monthly capital campaign envelopes and with or without special mission offerings. We can even provide stamps if you prefer to mail in your offerings. Just let Terri know!!

Life Line Screening - Life Line Screening will be at EBC on Thursday, October 14. Screenings that are available are: Carotid Artery (Plaque) Screening, Heart Rhythm Screening (Atrial Fibrillation), Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening, Peripheral Arterial Disease Screening, and Osteoporosis Risk Assessment, Pre-Registration is required. Call 1-888-653-6450 for an appointment time.

If you’re a Guest at Emmanuel, we want to welcome you to our

church.

If you would like to know more about Emmanuel or if you have questions about the Christian faith, please contact our Guest Coordinator, Barb Kirsch (304.482.2942 or [email protected]) or Pastor Kurt Busiek (304.485.5171 or kurt@ ebcwv. com).
