In particular, we will cover three common scenarios; fly-in / fly-out, remote area locations and permanent domestic transfers. Individuals have a greater desire to access information and status updates on a real- time basis, while Global Mobility managers require innovative solutions that create efficiencies, maintain transparency, increase compliance and manage costs. We will discuss how technology can strengthen the success of your mobility program, minimize risk and provide a more personalized approach. Lightning talk: Untapped payroll tax and fringe benefits tax opportunities Session 3: Speed update – UK, US, China The UK, US and China continue to be amongst the primary destinations for expatriate traffic from Australia. This session will focus on the key tax, immigration and broader mobility considerations that global mobility professionals need to be aware of when moving their employees to these locations. Lightning talk: The long awaited employee share scheme changes Day Two – 13 November 2015 Session 4: Moving your business in to new markets Australian companies are looking at overseas expansion as a means of meeting their growth objectives. Moving or hiring people into new locations presents unique challenges, particularly into developing countries. This session will identify the key considerations when expanding into new locations. We will also hear from a panel of clients that have recently expanded into new locations who will share their experiences and insights.. Lightning talk: Tax reform in Australia and what it means for HR professionals Session 5: New world of immigration compliance The last several years have seen an increase in immigration compliance enforcement activity along with significant changes to how infractions are identified and the potential consequences for the stakeholders. During this session, we will outline the current approaches to immigration compliance in various jurisdictions, including a focus on policy, legislation and future trends. The presenters will discuss the consequences of non-compliance and provide best practices in meeting immigration compliance obligations. Lightning talk: The impact of tax governance on global mobility Session 6: Agile working - challenges of a flexible mobile workforce Employees are increasingly taking advantage of the ability to work remotely. Whilst this may be key to ensuring ongoing employee engagement, there are many side effects for organisations that are not immediately apparent. In this session, we will identify some of the issues that organisations face in respect of commuting assignees as well as discussing the strategies that can be implemented to minimise the potential risk to your organisation.
