SPECIFICATION CLARIFICATONS: Item 1: Section 00100 – Instructions to Bidders

Calls for the MBE Attachments to be submitted “30 minutes after submitting the Bid Proposal”. However, Page 00300-4 of the Form of Proposal states that they must be submitted “At time of bid opening or the bid will be rejected as non-responsive”. Which is correct?

CLARIFY: HCPS will receive all bids at 2:00pm, local time. There will be an additional

thirty (30) minutes available to submit MBE forms A & B. at 2:30 pm, local time, at which time the bids will be open and read aloud.

DRAWING CLARIFICATIONS: Item 1: Drawing M-2.6, New Work

There is no connect to existing symbol for the HS/R piping at boiler room 412. It was established during the walk thru on Thursday that the existing valved connections are 6”. The pipe sizes for the new piping to be installed are not indicated until the connect to existing 2” to the west and the only main sizing to the east and north is 2” at the north side of the gym. Are we installing 2” in both directions from the connect to existing at boiler room 412 to service all equipment as indicated?

CLARIFY: Refer to sketch SK-M-1 for additional information on pipe sizing at existing Boiler Room 412. Item 2: Drawing M-2.6 New Work

There is no main pipe sizing at match line “A”, Multi-purpose room 418 for HS/R and only 3” for CHS/R. Will the main pipe size for the CHS/R be 3” to FCU-2 then reduce accordingly to service FCU-1?

CLARIFY: The pipe size for HS/R leading into Multipurpose Room 418 shall be 2". Refer to

sketch SK-M-3 for additional pipe sizes and temperature sensor locations.

Item 3: Drawing M-2.6 New Work

The drawings indicate “remove gas piping in its entirety” does that include the existing PRV’s and all associated apparatus? Or do we connect to existing downstream of that equipment? No new gas pipe sizing indicated on drawings.

CLARIFY: The gas piping including existing PRV's, etc. that is associated with the existing

boilers is to be removed in its entirety. Provide gas piping, PRV's and associated apparatus to Boilers and existing/relocated Domestic Hot Water Heater. Gas piping sizes for new boilers and relocated water heater is provided on drawing M-7.2.

Item 4: Drawing M-2.6

Shows Pre-Heat Pumps P-13 and #14 to AHU-5. Pump schedule does not include these numbered pumps. Please advise.

CLARIFY: On drawing M-2.6, the designation for 'PREHEAT COIL CIRCULATING PUMPS P-13 & P-14' shall be revised to reflect 'PREHEAT COIL CIRCULATING PUMPS P-34 & P-35'.


Please verify pipe size to HS and HR and CHS and CHR to AHU-12 and 13 and to FCU #1 and #2, also for mains outside Room 412.

CLARIFY: Refer to sketch SK-M-1 for additional information on pipe sizing at existing Boiler Room 412. Refer to sketch SK-M-3 for pipe sizing in Multipurpose 418.


There is no piping shown on Drawing M-2.6 up to AHU#7.

CLARIFY: Refer to sketch SK-M-2 for pipe sizing up to AHU-7. Item 7: Drawing M-3.1

Mechanical Room 124 shows Boiler #1 and #2. Drawing M-7.1 shows detail for Boiler #4 and #5. Drawing M-9.2 also shows Boiler #4 and #5. Please verify if Boiler #1 and #2 are numbered correctly.

CLARIFY: On drawing M-3.1, the designation for 'BOILER 1' & 'BOILER 2' shall be revised to reflect 'BOILER 4' & 'BOILER 5' respectively.

Shows Secondary Heating Pumps #3 and #4. Drawing M-7.1 shows Secondary Heating Pumps #24 and #25. Pump schedule on M-9.2 shows Secondary Heating Pumps as P-24 and #25. Please verify if P-3 and 4 are numbered correctly.

CLARIFY: On drawing M-3.1, the designation for 'SECONDARY HEATING WATER PUMP No. 3'

& 'SECONDARY HEATING WATER PUMP No. 4' shall be revised to reflect 'SECONDARY HEATING WATER PUMP No. 24' & 'SECONDARY HEATING WATER PUMP No. 25' respectively.

Item 9 : Drawing M-9.2, Pump Schedule

The pump schedule does not reflect pumps P-1, 2, 11, 12, 13, or 14. The secondary heating pumps indicate on M-7.1 piping schematic are labeled P-24, 25 however, on drawings M-2.6 they are labeled 3 and 4. The pump schedule on drawing M-9.2 only provides for pumps numbered P-22 thru P-45.

CLARIFY: On drawing M-3.1, the designation for 'P-1' & 'P-2' shall be revised to reflect 'P-22' & 'P-23' respectively. Additionally, the designation for 'SECONDARY HEATING WATER PUMP No. 3' & 'SECONDARY HEATING WATER PUMP No. 4' shall be revised to reflect 'SECONDARY HEATING WATER PUMP No. 24' & 'SECONDARY HEATING WATER PUMP No. 25' respectively.

On drawing M-3.1, the designation 'PREHEAT COIL CIRCULATING PUMPS P-11 & P-12' shall be revised to reflect 'PREHEAT COIL CIRCULATING PUMPS P-32 & P-33'. On drawing M-2.6, the designation 'PREHEAT COIL CIRCULATING PUMPS P-13 & P-14' shall be revised to reflect 'PREHEAT COIL CIRCULATING PUMPS P-34 & P-35'. Item 10: Drawing M-9.2, Pump Schedule

Pump schedule on M-9.2 Note 1, calls for VSD’s to pumps #3 and #4 which are not on the schedule. Please advise.

CLARIFY: On drawing M-9.2 Note #1 for the Pump Schedule shall be revised to reflect 'PROVIDE VARIABLE SPEED DRIVES AND INVERTER DUTY RATED MOTORS FOR PUMPS P-24 & P-25'.

Item 3: Drawings E-1.6 shows the demo of the lighting trough out the gym and related area

rooms. General note #1 refer to E-0.2 in Alternate #2. If the demo is in the base bid and Alternate #2 is not accepted, what is to be done to the lighting in these areas? These rooms are all listed on the table for Alternate #2.

CLARIFY: Refer to Drawing Note 3 and rooms noted with Drawing Note 3. Existing lighting to

remain if alternate is not accepted.
