The lobby, at right, has freshly painted walls and the new carpet gives a warm welcome to those who enter through the double front doors. We were able to purchase 10 new round banquet tables. The Huber Opera House & Civic Center wishes to thank the Ohio Arts Council for their support in bringing you quality entertainment. This October, 2016 we have been awarded a grant for the produc-tion of The Odd Couple - female version and also to have Lynn Trefzger Ventriloquist/Comedienne en-tertain our families! Because of this grant, there will be no charge for the Ventriloquist/ Comedienne

allowing families to experience this nationally know entertainer’s com-edy! There is, how-ever, a charge for The Odd Couple - female version.

A raffle for an 8 day, 7 night cruise for two on the Mississippi River is just getting off the ground. Shown is a copy of the tickets be-ing sold giving the de-tails for this trip. There are options available for the winner to use to make the final plans;

date, point of departure, etc. Lots of people have always wanted to take this type cruise and here is your chance. Ticket sales are great. Get yours soon. The raffle is being directed to-ward the project to repair the outside brick wall of the Huber.

The former group “The Chords” will visit the Huber on Sunday, October 16 at 2:30 p.m. They were here in 2013 and are embarking on this next chapter in their singing life. The group, “Unclouded Day” consists of a quartet, accompanied by piano and violin. They will be an impressive variety in the entertainment we are bringing to the Huber. There will be no reserved seating. Adult tickets are $10.00, children through high school will be admitted free.

As a recipient of support from the Defiance Area Foundation, The Huber Opera House provided the location for theirannual meeting on

September 27, 2016.

A New and Exciting Project Running Until the Santa Parade

C.C. Banks is bringing to the Huber stage, “VANYA and SONIA and MASHA and SPIKE,” a hilarious comedy written by Christopher Durang. Vanya and Sonia are a midlife brother and sister who have never moved from their family home or the nor-mal hum drum life that goes along with it. Everything changes when their sister Masha, who is a famous actress, along with her boy toy Spike, decide to pay them a visit and tell them they are selling the homestead. This play was awarded a Tony for Best Play in 2013 along with several other awards. Show dates are November 4 and 5. Tickets are $20 for dinner and show; $15 for show only. Dinner will be at 7pm/Show at 8 pm. Dinner will be catered by Grants of Antwerp. Tickets available by calling419-506-1085 or at the Antwerp Pharmacy.
