OUR CREATOR

Our creator sends the rain, from drips to quench, to monsoons to revive

Our creator sends the snow, from drips to excite, to white blankets to fright

Our creator sends the hail, from stones to bash, to rocks to crash

Our creator sends the sun,

from rays to enjoy, to draughts that destroy Our creator sends the wind, from breezes to chill, to hurricanes that thrill

Jaria Sabir

PRAYER

Allah created the universe

All of man kind He shows mercy and generosity Even when we are blind

Guide me, forgive me, have mercy on me, Oh You who controls land, air and sea

‘Our Lord’ give us in this world good And in the hereafter good

And protect us from the punishment of the fire! Accept my prayer and forgive my evil deeds Save me,

A servant who is desperately in need.

FRIENDSHIP

A friend is like a flower

A rose to be exact Or maybe a brand new gate That never comes unlatched

A friend is like an owl Both beautiful and wise Or perhaps a friend is like a ghost

Whose spirit never dies A friend is like a heart

That goes strong until the end Where would we be in this world If we didn’t have a friend

Sakina

PARENTS

You picked me up so many times When I was just a child

You dried my tears when I was sad You kept me by your side

You tried to make me go to school To do my best You wanted me to see the good

And sheltered me from the rest

So many times I hurt you With cruel words, I had said You know I dint mean them

And you love me anyway

If I had the choice to change my life And change my family I wouldn’t change a single thing

Because the best parents belong to me Meher

BIBI ZAINAB

Bibi Zainab was just, a lady you could trust

In resilience she stood on Karbala's dust Bibi Zainab was always loving reassuring for Sakina in the prison of Shaam

In Yazeed's court she was strong and calm In the court yard of Yazeed, their escape she reconciled, in the speech she gave

Ali in her voice, Muhammad in her stance, The Ummah in her mind

when the musalaas of her sons were presented to her she mourned and wept but she never was weak

TABLE MANNERS Table manners are important for instance Not to pick your nose To close your mouth when eating To chew and chew and chew Then after that, swallow Down your chest it goes Try not to cough over everyone's food "Alright bossy, fussy pant, Please be quite dude" I know I coughed out loud It was an accident mate. My food was burnt That's why I coughed. It must have come out of the oven late! Remember not to burp or act like a jerk when eating some ice-cream or swallowing baked beans. Maryam Mohammed

PROPHET MUHAMMAD

When truth was lost and hearts frozen From you Allah came a chosen Prophet

Blessed Prophet Muhammad, obedient to you Taught us the things we ought to do.

He taught us for certain that you are one And that you have neither a daughter or son He taught us to be good to our mothers and fathers

and that paradise lies under the feet of our mother.

I love you my Prophet and sing your praise and follow your sunnah One day I will come to visit your tomb Inshallah that day will be soon.

CLEANLINESS

Clean this, Clean that,

Those two words are haunting me, Those two words are now taunting me "What's wrong with these people"? I used to say

I know cleanliness is half Imaan, I know cleanliness is half Islam, Everywhere I go,

Everywhere I hear Clean this,

Clean that, What is cleanliness I heard one day, Now I can't stand a speck of dirt,

Anywhere I see, I call the maid just for me,

And let her do it just for me, That's how my life is now, And that's how I end my poem now.

DEAR MUM

Writing memories on this paper

You are too far away to be my helper Writing words that are just for you I'll let you know what I've been through

It's only you who can understand the weird turns of my restless mind

I leave for you words written on the sand Better read them before they get washed

I find your arms the safest place and your love the purest of all

It's far too hard, it's for me a disgrace that remain unforgiven mistakes

Writing thoughts I want to let you know that you were and will always be my soul

Being the past still my present It's you when I will turn to for love.

Meher
