surrounding service charges, and an

understanding of union organizing. Despite the

fact that Illinois is an employment at-will state,

discrimination, sexual harassment, the ADA, the

ADEA, and retaliation. We will discuss the law

of service charges. Finally, we will discuss the

NLRA as it pertains to non-union employers and

organizing drive.

Last year your GCCMA Board

agreed to participate in the John

Deere Golf Rewards Program. The

program gives a portion of every

John Deere club operation purchase

in our chapter area back to our local

chapter as a rebate. Our chapter

would then be able to decide where

to invest these funds so they will

do the most good, and sit back and

watch the results.

We really had no expectations on

receiving any dollar amount. Only

that the word on the streets was

other chapters were seeing some

generous rebates. Early in October

we were contacted and told that we should

expect a rebate check somewhere in the $9,300.00 range but the yearend

totals were not yet complete. To our surprise the total rebate came in

at $23,287.77!

This enormous windfall check was presented at the Annual Meeting by

Troy Tietjens , Jeff Chapin, and Rob Fog of John Deere. The 2014 Finance

Committee will investigate how best to invest these funds and what the

future of this relationship might bring.
