Dear sports club or organisation,
Take part in the Get Active Wandsworth Festival 2012:April 18th September 30th 2012
2012 sees the third edition of the Get Active Wandsworth Festival, as we countdown to theLondon 2012 Olympics. The festival aims to provide a lasting legacy to the Games inWandsworth, and participation has grown to almost 4,000 since its introduction in July 2010.
This year will be even bigger and better than before, and we want as many clubs andorganisations with an interest in physical activity and sport to get involved.
This year the festival kicks off on April 18th 2012 (100 days to go to the Olympic Games), andwill run until September 30th 2012. We want clubs and organisations to host Open Daysduring this period, and in return we will market your events, facilities and activities.
On Saturday July 14th 2012 we will host the Get Active Day at King Georges Park. This will bea large showcase event with clubs and organisations from around the borough present, at aone-off exhibition. Last year Radio Jackie helped us to host the event on Tooting Common.
We want clubs/organisations to sign up to advertise their open days (if these fall in the April 18 th
September 30th period), and/or sign up to be present to provide activity at the Get Active Day
on July 14th.
Should you want to take part we will send you a marketing pack to promote your event,including poster templates and stickers (to give to participants). Your event will be publicized inthe Get Active Wandsworth 2012 Festival brochure, which will be distributed to over 10,000people and also listed on our website www.wandsworth.gov.uk/active. A map and programmewill also be produced for the Get Active Day, and a front page in the Wandsworth Guardian inthe lead up to the day. We will also supply you with registers and evaluation cards for theevent.
