What’s Happening at Alston Ridge Elementary?
New Families at Alston Ridge The PTA extends a warm welcome to the many new families who joined the
Alston Ridge community this summer! The Alston Ridge PTA is a fluid group of parent volunteers from diverse backgrounds who help to create a dynamic
school community. Some of our school programs and offerings are: •Cultural Arts Assemblies •Reflections art program •Gator Fest spring festival
•Family Nights •Agendas and Track out bags for every student
•Teacher funding for grants, supplies, and conferences •Staff Treats for early release days, Stock the Staff Lounge, Teacher
Appreciation Week •Wellness Committee
•Coordinating room parents for each classroom •Assisting Alston Ridge with the Science Fair, Career Fair, Red Ribbon Week,

How does the PTA communicate with you? Through Membership Toolkit, a program that organizes student info, volunteers, PTA membership and allows you to buy Spirit Wear. Custodian Appreciation

Families are welcome to
send in a small food treat or money for gift cards by Oct. 6th that will go towards a gift basket for our custodians in early October.
This is just a gentle reminder about the PTA Reflections program. We cannot
wait to see the amazing pieces done by our students.
Due Date for Finished Artwork: All finished artwork will be due
by Tuesday, October 25. There will be a large bin in the front office to collect artwork. If you have a Visual Arts 3D
piece, please contact Heather Ng at [email protected] and we
will arrange a drop off/pick up that doesn’t overtake the front office.

BOOSTERTHON FUN RUN!!!
A Huge THANK YOU! to everyone who particpated in this year’s fundraising effort with the Boosterthon
Fun Run! With the help of parent volunteers, sponsors, staff, students, and Boosterthon, Alston Ridge PTA raised $50,000 profit that will be used to create shade, benches, and educational gardens.
Thank you to the many volunteers who brought the Fun Run to life!
Using the funds from our Fun Run, we will create gardens based on school curriculum.

The teachers below are still looking for a Room Parent for their classrooms. Being a Room Parent gives you an opportunity to be an active
participant in your child’s education by supporting his/her teacher.

5th grade T-shirt Design Contest The top 3 t-shirt designs are in! Faculty, parents, and the t-shirt design company helped narrow it down from a group of over 40 fantastic designs from all seven 5th grades. The final 3 will be voted upon by the 5th graders soon. T-shirts with the winning design will be ready in December for purchase by 5th grade families.
