It’s A Wonderful Life
“Strange, isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many other
lives. When he isn’t around he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t
he?”
-Clarence Oddbody
Dear Community Leader:
Youth Bridge’s annual “It’s A Wonderful Life” Gala, Celebrity Roast, and Silent Auction is quickly becoming one of
Northwest Arkansas’ premier holiday season events.
We depend heavily on the sponsorships, auction items, tickets, and other donation from this event to make-up a major
part of our annual contributions revenue. The gala helps support our annual 3000+ youth who go through our
programs. Especially, the proceeds are used to help make Christmas for these youth in residential treatment a happy
one. This year, a portion of the proceeds are earmarked for the Benton County Emergency Shelter to assist with the
program and facility needs.
The gala began four years ago to accomplish two things: recognize a leader in our community who have made a
significant impact; and to have our own unique fundraiser that would set us off from the many other fundraisers
conducted throughout the year. Our format is both a “roast and a toast” to give it that special twist. Our candidates
are nominated by our community advisors and a committee of Youth Bridge Board of Directors who make the final
selection.
The inaugural roast began with Dick Trammel (2008) and the roasters were Governor Beebe, UA Chancellor David
Gearhart, NWACC President Dr. Becky Paneitz, and Coleman Peterson among the many. It proved to be a very
successful turnout raising the most money, at the time, of any previous Youth Bridge event; and, we were able to
secure many new annual friends, donors, and volunteers. Others roasted include Dr. Rebecca “Becky” Paneitz (2011);
Jeff Schomburger (2010); Shirley Ann “Peaches” Peterson, Fadil Bayyarri, and Dick Johnson (2009).
We ask you to make an investment in our youth by sponsoring our “It’s A Wonderful Life” Gala. This packet summarizes the various sponsorships and their benefits. You may choose the option that best fits you or your company. Please feel free to contact me at (479) 575-9471 or [email protected] with any questions.
Sincerely,
Dr. Nancy Hairston Director of Development Youth Bridge, Inc.
