Halo 4 is finally here, the first Halo game de-veloped by 343 Industries since Bungie and Microsoft parted ways. Many fans were wor-ried that 343 Industries was not up to the task in taking on this huge project; however, as of now, Halo 4 is the best in the franchise. The Halo 4 story centers on the Master Chief and his trusty AI, Cortana who are tasked with the difficult job of taking down a new and danger-ous threat to the human race and the whole universe. The game is an emotional rollercoaster for the Master Chief, as he is forced to watch Cor-tana slowly lose control. However, despite Cortana’s many problems, the two manage to adapt to the situation and continue on their journey for the sake of humanity. What 343 Industries has created is not too different com-pared to other Halo games. However, it would have been preferable if the developer didn’t play it safe and tried placing a huge mark on Halo 4 and the franchise on a whole.Gameplay: Halo 4’s gameplay isn’t much dif-

ferent from previous Halo games; it just feels more solid and mature. All weapons in the game now have more oomph when they are fired, and weapons feel truly powerful when enemies are taking a beating. Enemies here are smart; squads will work together and ad-just their tactics as players make way with their assault. Many spaces are available for maneuver in Halo 4, which gives players enough room to take on a huge amount of enemy forces. Go-ing up against the Covenant should be a famil-iar affair, still difficult but if one is a long-time Halo player it should be a bit easier. However, things get out of control when Promethean enemies appear; these bad boys are tougher and more aggressive than the Covenant. Fight-ing these Promethean enemies is what makes Halo 4 single player combat shine; it works and feels impressive like never before.Multiplayer: Halo 4’s single player has al-ways been fun, but what truly makes a great Halo game is its online multiplayer. This time

around, there is a greater diversity in competi-tive multiplayer combat, 343 Industries did a great job putting their mark on the title, which makes for the best Halo multiplayer ever. Halo 4 has plenty of content available and gam-ers will be so excited that they may not know where to begin.Halo 4 is arguably the best game in the fran-chise. 343 Industries has taken Bungie’s baby ad made it theirs and that can only mean good things for future installments in the new trilogy. From the Master Chief and Cortana’s emotional relationship, to the impressive com-petitive multiplayer, Halo 4 could end up grab-bing the game of the year awards for 2012.

THE LIFE

My Thanksgiving Day consisted of a very strict and rigorous list of activities. I ate slept, awoke, and then ate again. I went all in on Thanksgiving - all diets, clean eating, exercise, or just plain regard for my health was shuffled somewhere in that pile of work I left on my desk unattended Wednesday evening. After I stumbled out of my food induced coma sometime Thursday evening I heard my sisters, mom, and aunts chattering about all of the Black Friday sales. As they began rambling off at alarming fast speeds the list of stores they were going to attend before the sun even came up it made me want to reach for another turkey leg. When my aunt came up for air to ask if I would be attending I promptly replied “no”. Apparently that wasn’t the answer she was looking for. After a true to form Southern lady guilt trip that somehow incorporated “family traditions” I buckled and said I would go. I only had two requests – coffee was to be provided and no Christmas music was to be played until at least 7 am. The first stop on our list was Overton’s located near Target on Red Banks. The posse was entirely too excited that they had decided to open up an extra hour early this year at 5am. Uncle Ricky needed new Carhartt pants, Dad wouldn’t survive the rest of deer season without some new tree stand (aren’t they all the same?), and my sister’s head was about to spin around at the thought of racking up on her kids Columbia ski ensembles for their upcoming trip in January. We waited in parking lot until the open sign clicked on. When I saw it light up I said a quick prayer to the big guy upstairs asking for patience, serenity, and most importantly – to not be trampled by the very large man in the car next to me who was drooling over the rifle ad in his hand. Black Friday shopping should be added as a sport in the Olympics because these shoppers put forth the same energy as Flo Jo did running the 100 meter. Once we entered the door I had to admit – my pessimistic attitude

was quickly turned around. I was kindly greeted by a peppy employee. I tried to grumble at his happiness and ask why he was so awake at 5am but my better judgment took hold when he offered a hot doughnut and warm coffee. Instead of barking a sarcastic remark I suddenly felt the urge to hug him. He obviously knew the way to my heart. I did a loop around the store with my doughnut in hand and determined the sugar was already getting to me because I found myself shopping and….enjoying it! I grabbed a cart that another employee came out of nowhere with and started filling. I found the cutest Columbia fleece lined vest, a set of gloves, some scarf thing that I wasn’t sure how it worked but it was adorable, and like 10 Under Armour sweatshirts. After I realized I was only shopping for me I decided I better start buying for someone else if I hoped to get anything in return this year. I wasn’t exactly winning any congeniality awards in the family after all. And to my surprise – I knocked most of it out at Overton’s. All of the guys in the family will be pleasantly pleased with the abundance of hunting gloves, jackets, bibs, and pants I will be supplying them with. I even bought some ammo to put in my Uncle John’s stocking just to get under my Aunt Kim’s skin. She thinks he is stockpiling for the end of the world with his arsenal in the garage. The ladies won’t go without either. Under Armour, Columbia, Guy Harvey, Salt Life, some company called Fathom Offshore, and a ton of ECU stuff. Everyone is set! They even had cute running shoes and Sperrys. When shopping this Christmas season please exercise caution – extreme shoppers are everywhere! But take it from the most pessimistic holiday shop-per out there – it’s not that bad. Stores really work hard to go that extra mile and for a Grinch like me, it really means a lot.

While walking around Overton’s I remembered just how long this store has been in Greenville. It was started when I was a kid (a long, long time ago) as just a waterski company. In a weird sentimental way it felt good to “shop local”. Now don’t misunderstand me – I’m not getting soft here BUT they will definitely have my support going forward. And yes the doughnuts may have had something to do with my new found loyalty.

THE LIFE

OPEN YOUR EYESBY: STEFAN HAUS

One of the things I love about Greenville is the fact that you can walk around this tradi-tional Southern town and bump into people from all over the world. Not only do students from different parts of the U.S. attend ECU, you may also meet people from El Salvador or Spain while enjoying your morning coffee at the Scullery, grabbing a snack at Sup Dogs may lead to an acquaintance with French and German exchange students, and hearing Farsi, Arabic, or Chinese while sip-ping your White Russian at Christy’s Euro Pub is certainly not a rarity. We live in a fairly small community here in Greenville, but it is a very diverse community nevertheless. The ECU Visual Anthropol-ogy Photography Exhibit last month at the Tipsy Teapot emphasized on this point and featured the different cultures that make up our community in a visual manner. A group of ECU Anthropology students scrutinized our local community and exhibited photographs and stories of several of its members. While enjoying complementary wine and snacks, visitors could learn about the group’s findings ranging from the political division among Eastern North Carolinians to the stories of im-migrants and international exchange students living here. The ECU Visual Anthropology Photography Exhibit; back row: Mark Baek, Sierra Plato, Coty Martin, Dr. Luci Fernandes, Cate Mur-phy, Adam Johnson, Leah Joyner; front row:

Amanda Mutio, Kylie DownieNot Pictured: Alex Seidman

Dr. Luci Fernandes, the head of the project, said the group “added visual methods to traditional approaches of anthropology” in order to study our society, which makes pre-senting the findings to the public much more appealing. Amanda Mutio’s chapter “Moving to America” featured the international char-acter of our small town while Cate Murphy’s chapter focused on the political division that not only separates people living in Greenville but American society as a whole. Cate says her point was to “stress the importance of compromise in order to prevent further divi-sion in our community. We all have more in common than we think and yet we always focus on our political differences, which end up hurting us as a people.” Amanda Mutio presented the chapter “Mov-ing to America”

More than anything, the event made me realize how important it is to walk around our community with open eyes. Way too often, we rush through the streets holding a cup of coffee in our hands and thinking about a project we are working on or a paper that we have to finish. We close our eyes almost systematically and we fail to absorb what is going on in our environment. This group of anthropology students did the opposite: they consciously and systematically studied

who we are and what subgroups we consist of here in Greenville. It is important for a society to interact, to exchange ideas, and to understand one another. Without this kind of “social capital” it is impossible to find com-promise and to live life as a community. Next time you take a stroll through the town, keep your eyes and your mind wide open and pay attention to the people you encounter. Per-haps buy someone a drink and get to know the different cultures that coexist in Greenville, North Carolina and the surrounding areas. I find myself to be very fortunate to be living in such a diverse environment. G-Vegas’ soccer coaches / captains David Jury and Stefan Haus were featured as part of the exhibition

The ECU Visual Anthropology Photography Exhibit will be displayed at the Tipsy Teapot until the end of December. It will then be moved to the Scullery for the months January and February.

QUOTESBY BAREFOOT WADE

This month I thought I would share some of my favorite quotes with everyone. Hope you all like them!

“The thing about smart people is that they seemlike crazy people to dumb people.”

Why take life serious...It’s not permanent.

Nothing sucks worse than that moment during anargument when you realize that you are wrong.

Why do you drive on a parkway, and park on a driveway?

Why does Hawaii have interstate highways?

I dream of a brighter future, where chickens can crossthe road without having their motives questioned.

A friend is someone who will bail you out of jail.A best friend is the one sitting next to you saying“Wow! That was fun!”

Without deviation from the norm, progress is notpossible - Frank Zappa

Sure we can trust the government...just ask an Indian!

You never know how many friends you haveuntil you have a beach house.

You know you’re getting older when you find yourself leaving the party with the same person you came with.

Normal is just a setting on a washing machine.

Growing older is mandatory but growingup is optional.

The customer is always right. Unless you work in a bar...in that case there is a good chance that the customer might really just be an a**hole. (That was one I wrote)

For anyone that is a sports fan in general, we all know what the fantasy world of sports brings to us. We have fantasy baseball, basketball, hockey, but the one that everyone is zoomed in on is fantasy football. Right now, we are heading into the last few weeks of the season, which are the ones that mean the most to us players. This is the gut check time, where we try to find the players that we can use the most, set our line-ups for the playoffs, start looking at the possible matchups that one could have, and trying to find any possible way to avoid looking at the computer and second guessing about our season.

When one first starts, it’s like a new breath of air, a new reason to watch sports, and way to get with the friends and family to talk all the smack talk one can. Now, it’s at the point where the people on the bottom of their league have to swallow their pride, understand that you don’t have the dominating team you thought you would have, and basi-cally your either done in your league or you will have to pull an elephant out of a hat to win out in the playoffs.

Depending on the league you’re in, some people will have a chance to come from behind and win it all, pulling what you think is the greatest comeback in sports history. The ultimate bragging rights will be on the line, a possible trophy will be heading your way, and everyone that said “WHAT WERE YOU THINKING TAKING HIM,” one will be able to just laugh in their face until fantasy football comes around again.

Some people wonder how fantasy football can be so addicting and why do people become so harsh to friends and family when it comes to it. As one person said, “fantasy football is the sports version of Modern Warfare.” Yes, it is. It is a chance for all sports fans to come together, take on a rivalry among others, seeing who is the best of the best, who pulled off the best trades, who was able to get the sleepers in the league, and most of all, have the dominance over all the other players in the league for a whole year.

Fantasy football is the greatest thing since TV was able to carry football games live. It is very addicting to anyone that truly plays and one has been known to lose a couple friends, family members and relationships over the whole matter. Yet, we keep on coming back to it every year for the excitement, just too ultimately have that chance to win it all and have the same face as the little girl on TV that interviews Ray Lewis. People with fantasy fanatics, just beware of the up-coming weeks, as playoffs are coming up, you will notice a wide range of emotions. If the person is happy and full of joy, they have either won their league or just won the week over his/her best friend or biggest rival. If you see looking out

the window as it rains sadness, they probably just lost when he/she was in first place the whole year or just lost by less than 5 points because his RB just fumbled.

Emotions will be high these coming weeks, so everyone needs to get ready for a lot of smack talk and bragging rights that will be on the line in the next few weeks. Go out there, look ahead in the playoffs of possible teams your players will play, and strategize. Hopefully, things will turn out for you, but if not, just make sure to seclude yourself from the winner until next year.

Every year as the days get shorter and colder, millions of people experience a dip in their mood. This is a well-documented phenomenon that has been observed by physicians for thousands of years dating as far back as the Ancient Greeks. This seasonal effect on mood can range from the mild winter blues to the clinically diagnosed Seasonal Affective Disorder which causes functional impairment in daily activities. The winter blues appears to be more prevalent in women with the highest risk in the early 20s and decreased risk with increasing age. However, men more commonly experience major de-pressive episodes. In America, the incidence seems to increase with increasing latitude. It has been estimated that as many as 20-25 percent of people may experience some level of the winter blues. Common symptoms are increased appetite, weight gain, increased sleep, fatigue, irritability, decreased libido, and social withdrawal or interpersonal difficulty. For most of these people the symptoms are mild and do not cause any functional impairment. However, for a minority of these people, their seasonal depressive symptoms can cause major impairment in their daily life. Despite the mild nature of the symptoms that most of us will experience, no one should have to struggle through the winter months and there are steps that everyone can take to remedy and prevent depression in the fall.

Light exposure is the tried and true way to tackle the winter blues and improve mood. Even the ancient Greek physicians prescribed that their depressed patients be exposed to the rays of the sun to raise their mood. This may mean spending time outside while the sun is out, sit-ting near windows when indoors, or using lightbulbs that mimic natural light. So don’t let the cold weather deter you from getting out and getting some sun. Light therapy using daily exposure to high intensity light boxes is a first-line treatment for most cases of Seasonal Affective Disorder. In one study, it was shown that light therapy in the workplace improved mood, energy, alertness, and productivity during the winter months. If you are like me, and never get the opportunity to see the light of day, you can look for high intensity light bulbs or bulbs that mimic natural light to use in your home or workplace.

The other proven therapy that everyone should participate in regard-less of whether you are experiencing the winter blues or not is exercise. Exercise has long been known to improve mood as well as most other measures of health. Exercise can be even better if you can find ways to exercise outside and catch some rays at the same time. Exercise in sunlight or in bright light provides superior results in terms of improved mood and vitality. However, even if exercising in the light is not an option, any exercise will serve to improve your mood. Moderate ex-ercise may actually have more benefits in terms of mood than intense exercise. In our busy lives it is often hard to find time for exercise, but making time for just 30 minutes a day most days of the week of moder-ate exercise is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

These are some of the most studied and proven remedies, but there are other recommendations that may help you get through the dark days of winter. Eating healthy can have tremendous effects on your mood and energy levels, and that is also something that we should be doing regardless of the season. Keep nutritious foods on hand rather than junk food. Just because it’s winter, it doesn’t mean you need to pack

on the pounds like you’re getting ready to hibernate. Cutting down on the alcohol in your diet could also be beneficial as it is a well-known depressant. Socializing with friends and family is another strategy that may help. In some parts of the country, winter weather may deter people from getting out and socializing, but I know that is not the case in Greenville. Don’t let the cold and darkness deter you from keeping up with your usual social appointments.

The winter blues affect millions of Americans every year as the days get shorter, but there are strategies that we can all use to fend it off. Exercise and sunlight are the most proven strategies to fend it off, but there are others that may help as well. If you find that your depressive episodes are severe enough that they are impairing your daily life you should consult with your physician or healthcare provider. No one should have to suffer through the winter months, so make the changes necessary to avoid the winter blues.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! After a never-ending winning streak, the G-Vegas soccer team has officially won PGSA’s West Division one week before games came to a close. With a nine-point lead and one game

left in the season, there was no way Real Madrid or any other team could catch up. The team received the trophy and individual awards for winning the West division prior to the game against Channel 4 News Team, which it ended up beating 6-1. Considering the fact that this team has only come into exis-tence a few months ago, G-Vegas sur-

prised everybody and has delivered stunning results.Furthermore, the team has been raising funds to support a local family whose son Jasiah Macon has been in a precarious medical condition due to post-birth renal failure and requires daily dialysis. Before the game against Channel 4 News Team, the team handed over a check for five hundred dollars to help ease the financial burdens that come with constant medical care. Making a difference in the local com-munity is everybody’s responsibility, and G-Vegas is actively taking the lead and encouraging others to follow. Further fundraisers will be held and announced accordingly. In previous weeks, G-Vegas beat Juventus, which was number two of the East division at the time. In the midst of unknown territory, G-Vegas fell behind twice, 2-1 and 3-2 respectively. Nevertheless, the team never stopped pressing, didn’t give up, and ended up winning the game 5-3. Getting back up and dusting themselves off again, G-Vegas learned an important lesson that day: Never ever ever give up! Furthermore, the team beat Hunt-ers 3-0 the following week. The play-offs are approaching quickly and are scheduled to take place the second week in December. Given the fact that G-Vegas won every single game thus far, the team will most likely face the strongest teams of both divisions. We need you guys to come out and support our team during this end-of-season tournament. Check http://www.pgsasoccer.com/adult.asp for details. As this sea-son is coming to an end, we may be looking for a few new players

(male and female) to join our team. If you are interested, keep an eye out for recruiting calls on Facebook or if you are really interested go ahead and email a short paragraph about yourself and your history of playing soccer to [email protected]. David and I would like to personally congratulate and thank each and every player for their great accomplishment and their commitment. We sincerely hope to have most of you on board again next year. We would also like to thank G-Vegas Magazine for the continuous support we received and for the shared enthusiasm.

At any given time you can find the guy I know as Whyte Tyson in his element. Need it be writ-ing some new tracks, or hitting the studio for a few hours, maybe it might be the most important thing of the day to him, spending some time with his four year old daughter. Whatever it may, you will always find him doing something productive because this is one restless soul that never finds time to himself. Every time I see him he is always doing something for someone or trying to promote something to me. When I fi-nally convinced him to sit down and take the time to talk to me about himself I got to know a whole other side of him I did not know was there.> Whyte Tyson isn’t just an artist in North Caro-lina. He has inspired a realism about himself that when your with him his talents aren’t just present. They just flow right through you to the point that they become part of you. so whoever and whatever happens, you just get this sense about yourself that you have the ability to bet-ter yourself somehow and that’s the message he wants to get across with B.L.E.A.C.H. Enter-tainment. Brothers Learning Enlightenment And Conquering Hardships, It’s what he stands for every day. What he hopes to Accomplish with “B.L.E.A.C.H.” Entertainment, is that there is no separations and nobody tries to categorize.> His vision is that one day we will be able to be looked at as equals and not as a “white boy” trying to be black just because he happens to like to rap. And happen to be pretty good at it. It might be because he says he started writing poetry at around six years old and then when he got in middle school took a stab at writing some beats… go figure those ended up being pretty good too. Good enough that in 2001 he won a freestyle battle that was broadcast on 92.3 with DJ Tazz. Over the Next few years took to the typical breezeway freestyles as any high schooler would and just improved his skills to the lyrical stylist he is today.> He says growing up his strong mom was is main inspiration in life, and I asked him about inspiration what he thinks his music inspires his fans and what it conveys to them and his re-sponse was “misguided, stereotyped.” what his song process is, he said “when he hears a beat he just wants to kill the track do a better concept and have the world understand.” He says when he is on stage he feels as though its his “time to shine” and to “expand some knowledge” to his fans, everyone has their moments and this time is his. Stereotyping is always going to be the subject at hand though that was what he said would be considered his weakness when I asked him. Because unfortunately we live in a world that has yet to completely accept no “stereotypes” But that’s what one day Whyte

Tyson hopes B.L.E.A.C.H. will be able to ac-complish. That everyone gets an equal chance at a brighter future supporting their families and bettering their lives. > “Keep your head up, stay motivated, and thank the haters.” As I quote is what Whyte Tyson had to say for anyone trying to get themselves started in the game. We got on the subject of how he handles the mature content of his music around his young daughter and his response was “my daughter is the realist person I know. She knows the difference between what’s right and wrong and she has taught me more then I have ever taught her. Being a single fa-ther has by far been the biggest struggle I have ever had.”> Realizing he can’t depend on just his music to carrying him he is trying to build a foundation in produc-tion, music, writing, promotions and any-thing productive to help build a name for B.L.E.A.C.H. Whyte Tyson is always net-working and making new contacts in the

music industry. He uses facebook to promote his music at www.facebook.com/BleachEnter-tainment he is always adding new music to his account at http://www.soundcloud.com/whytetyson. When you get a chance you should check him out.

SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETSBY: Daniel Edmonds, Lauren Burkholder, Joseph Maida, Katelyn Reiser

THE LIFE

A growing problem in the United States is the unwanted pet popula-tion; at the root of this problem is the number of uneducated persons who continue to selfishly and unwittingly repopulate the animal world by not spaying and neutering their animals. This simple procedure can save the lives of thousands of animals by reducing the need for euthanasia in shelters. Every year around 25 million puppies and kittens are born in the U.S. alone, and a large percentage of those will be abandoned, or will end up in a shelter with their ultimate fate being euthanasia. If more people knew about the extensive resources that are available to them and their pets, the issue of overpopulation can start to be alleviated.

A survey was given to East Carolina students in hopes of gaining more knowledge on this subject. Only 56% of student’s pets owned by ECU students were spayed or neutered. The reasons given for not spaying and neutering are often insignificant, including lack of knowledge and high cost. This is very unfortunate as it is harmful for animals to forego these procedures. Many people want to breed their animals at too young an age, and the animal is limited to confined life. With proper education, pet owners can understand that there are more productive and effective methods of achieving the same means. The price of getting your pet spayed or neutered varies depending on the weight, sex, and type of animal, cat or dog. Prices range greatly and can cost as low as $20 at a low cost clinic and upwards of $500 at a veterinary offices. Around Greenville the average cost is $50-$200, although there are other options. Greenville has a low cost spay/neuter clinic called Spay Today that provides services for both cats and dogs available at 252-321-8839. They offer a variety of ser-vices including spay/neuter surgeries including spay/neuter surgeries starting at $40 for cats and $75 for dogs.

Spaying and neutering pets actually becomes cost efficient over the life of the household animals. Furthermore, it also increases the health of the animals too; for example, female dogs that are not spayed typi-cally run the risk of developing mammary cancer and females who are spayed virtually get rid of the chance of developing mammary cancer. For females cats it can decrease the chances of contracting mammary cancer, infections of the reproductive tract, and tumors in the reproduc-tive tract. In male dogs neutering can reduce aggression, roaming, marking, and testicular cancer. Neutering male cats has some of the same benefits as in male dogs like reduced roaming, reduced spray-ing and marking, reduced aggression, and help reduce the number of health problems related to the urinary tract. Irrespective of the sex or specie of animal, the biggest benefit is that the animal can no longer reproduce, which decreases the need for euthanasia.

Responsible pet ownership is important for the happiness of the owner, pet and ultimately the community too. Raising household animals properly and responsibly is beneficial for everyone. Correspondingly, pet owners will be able to enjoy the time with their pets more, and the community will be a safer place too. Most importantly, euthanasia will become an unnecessary formality. Saving the lives of animals should be just as important to the community as saving the lives of other people, mainly because it is a preventable tragedy. The most impor-tant part of prevention is having the knowledge and being responsible for the household pets we love so much.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 pre-miered Thursday, November 15th, 2012 at 10 p.m. This is the last movie within the Twilight Saga. It is based on the fourth novel, Breaking Dawn written by Stephenie Meyer. The director of this movie was Bill Condon. Melissa Rosen-berg wrote the screenplay. The three leading stars, Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan), Robert Pat-tinson (Edward Cullen), and Taylor Lautner (Ja-cob Black), returned to the screen once again to portray the characters people have fell in love with over the past few years. The movie theaters premiered it earlier than midnight in hopes that this would allow them to draw in a bigger crowd.I attended one of the eleven o’ clock shows at the Regal in Greenville. The movie started exactly at eleven o’ clock and lasted until one. The Regal did a good job of getting custom-ers through the ticket and concession lines in a timely matter. The movie picked up right where Breaking Dawn - Part 1 left off, with Bella wak-

ing up as a vampire. As the movie went on, it mainly kept true to the book. The viewers saw Renesmee Cullen (Mackenzie Foy), Bella and Edward’s daughter, grow up and the con-flicts and complications that the Cullen fam-ily encountered from the Volturi because they thought Renesmee was an immortal child. The Cullen’s reached out to other vampire clans to join them in their stand against the Volturi. Through the gathering of these clans, Bella learned how to control her powers as a shield and was able to show Edward in the end how she had felt about him the whole time. By the end, the wolves and vampires learned to live together.

The fact that Jacob imprinted on Renesmee played a huge role within that happening. This movie was done well. The actors and actress really portrayed their characters. The special effects used within this movie helped to bring it to life. The fight scene towards the end held

a lot of ac-tion and was truly enjoy-able. It was a nice touch making the a u d i e n c e s believe that the battle was happening in the present time then reveals it was just one of Alice’s visions. Even though some of the scenes within the vi-sion didn’t happen in the book, this allowed the audience to feel even more connected to the characters on the screen. The movie’s ending was simple. It recapped Bella and Ed-wards’s history and feelings. The movie ended by showing the last page of the novel on the screen with forever bolded. With the Twilight Sage now over, it will be a long time before Stephenie Meyer fans forget the great love story of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen’s.

One of the hottest new trends this shopping sea-son is choosing small businesses. H.Rosaletti, located in the Greenville Mall, is one small re-tailer you don’t want to overlook when making your holiday shopping list this month. H.Rosaletti has one-of-a-kind handmade jewelry, scarves, shawls, wraps and ponchos made from the very hands of skilled indigenous artisans from rural homes and small villages from the Imbabura highlands of Ecuador.

The H.Rosaletti bracelets, earrings, necklaces and other jewelry are created from nuts, ber-ries, seeds, and coconut husks that are harvest-ed from native palms and other tropical trees in a sustainable manner. Their brightly colored scarves are crafted on antique Draper fly-shuttle looms by Ecuadorian weaving experts that have

been using this tradition for centu-ries. H.Rosaletti’s uniquely crafted shawls, ponchos, and wraps are handmade by Ecuadorian artisans in a way that makes them extraor-dinary and unlike any gift you can give a loved one this season.

Did you know that when you sup-port a small business, you support your town and city, and ultimately the United States? It’s true! By choosing to shop at local small businesses, you are providing economic benefits directly to your community. According to the U.S. Business Administration, around 28 million small businesses in the United States create 65 percent of net new jobs. The wages from the jobs they cre-ate are returned to the local economy, which support other local businesses and neighbor-hood services.

Also, for every $100 that is spent at a local re-tailer, $68 will return to the community through taxes and payroll. This holiday season, remember the small busi-ness and its significance to both the economy and community. Small businesses are essen-tially the backbone of every community. In the case of a small business, helping others will

help yourself in the course. Visit H.Rosaletti in the Greenville Mall or online at hrosaletti.com to peruse their exclusive products that are fash-ioned from a place where artistic traditions use the Earth’s natural beauty to express your per-sonality.
