with Bess zestfully leading the way to brilliant displays along icy paths.Though Bess rarely attends these frigid annual spectacles nowadays, shehas kept inviting us there to view all the sights (this year not only lightsbut also an ice-sculpting demo). We love to accept her gracious invita-tions. In her ninth decade and always, she has been a steady “spark” fordelightful experiences as she continues to be a catalyst of inspiration foreveryone. We gladly continue venturing through the dazzling Blossoms ofLight, thanks to Bess, and recently expanded our worldview by followingher suggestion to also visit the more rustic Trail of Light at ChatfieldGardens. So, happy Chanukah to dear Bess with love and appreciationfor encouraging us to see each tree in the forest and all the lights in theuniverse!

Not only did such remembrances brighten Bess’s celebration ofChanukah, but also triggeredmemories of her own… somanymemo-

ries. What could she do with them all? Write a book, she decided – abook of at least 9–1/2 chapters, one for each decade of her life so far, tobe organized and accomplished on her new, more conducive computer(another gift from her relatives). The task already has begun. She plansto use as many of those e-mailed Chanukah messages as feasible, incombination with her forthcoming memories….Writing the book isher resolution for 2010, she says. “I’ve realized that in living all theseyears, the world was different then and I have lots to write.”

Look forward to reading more someday from and about Bess Brown.
