What Motivates People to Lead a Building Brigade?

• provide a life enriching experience for brigade members

• students, family, congregation members, friends, strangers

• help the people of Honduras improve their lives

• interact with the children

• highlight the challenges faced by Honduran people

• help spread the word of the valuable work FoHC is doing

• enable brigaders to make a difference in the 3rd world

Building Brigade Contributions in 2008

• 9 brigades will have visited SAN by year end

• 148 brigaders will have taken part

• close to 2000 person days of effort will have been put in

• $116,000 will have been provided for projects

• almost all brigades plan to return in 2009

Flor Azul• Built a hen house

• Built a slaughter house

• Installed a system to collect rain water

• Installed solar lighting

• Built a classroom

• Installed a water line from the pump to a holding tank

• Improved water distribution

Achievements in 2008Nuevo Paraiso• Painted Holy Cross/University house built in 2007

• Built a Community Centre, painted and partially furnished it

• Completed a mural at the Community Centre & Casa Del Sol

• Started landscaping

• Painted Grace house 2

• Started construction of Grace house 3

• Began Education outreach - provided supplies, uniforms
