Who we areGlobal Brigades Chur
Together with our acquired knowledge we would like to support those who live a less privileged life than we do. We believe that it is our duty to use what we have learnt not only for our own purpose but far more to support people in need. We do not just want to partially improve the lives of individuals but rather have an affect on societal thinking and therefore positively influence sustainability.

Who is Global Brigades?
An association of students
Global Brigades International was founded 2004 as a student answer to global inequality – and since then has become the largest student-led social responsibility movement worldwide. It consists of a network of 150 university associations and international volunteer organisations. Every year around 2 000 volunteers engage in 40 communities in Honduras, Panama and Ghana to participate in development programs.
Global Brigades Switzerland was founded 2010 and is part of Global Brigades International. The stu- dents in Switzerland receive the oppor-tunity to volunteer and offer communities in developing countries sustainable solutions.
The diversity of the projects of Global Brigades International remains to this day unique and stretches across the following fields:
Business / Microfinance
Environment
Law
Architecture
Medical / Public Health
Water

Our goalsTo smooth the path
How we achieve our goals
Through the organisation of student events as well as contributions from companies and private persons we want to generate the financial means to support the Global Brigades project.
Furthermore, an enormous amount of voluntary work is needed in order to make the required organisational arrangements and to finally realise the project.
Our Global Brigades Chur team pursues three primary goals:
We advocate building a world that is characterized by solidarity, justice and peace and in which all humans have access to food, water, health care, education and work.
We create the opportunity for interested students to actively participate on site in a Global Brigades development project.
We promote a deeper understanding of cultural differences, of the challenges and problems facing those affected in developing countries, as well as of global interrelation. This is to be achieved by participating actively in Global Brigades projects.

In order not to neglect the sustai- nability concept, it is important for Global Brigades to not just support people once, but repeatedly over a considerable time-span. This means that employees of Global Brigades remain constantly on site when we return to Switzerland. In this way it is ensured that the work performance and the financial means are invested
Sustainability and the future
in a sustainable manner. Furthermore, our association at our own university (University of Applied Sciences Chur) will be consolidated in the following months in order to be able to carry out further projects in the future on an annual basis. In this way a trusting and reliable partnership between the people of Ghana and the students in Switzerland can flourish.

Ghana the possibility to take their lives into their own hands and through micro-credits create the basis for a regular income. Moreover, with your contribution you encourage an intercultural exchange. The main difference between Global Brigades and other NGO’s (Non-Governmental Organisations) is that Global Brigades is an organisation led by students. This enables us to put what we learn into practice and thereby support other people in a sustainable way. There thus exists a great chance for all
the people involved in the project to make a change and take part in creating our future world. All student members of Global Brigades work in a voluntary capacity and are independent, with no self-economic interest in the work. We can there- fore guarantee you that every Swiss Franc that is made available to us through donations will go directly into the realization of Global Brigades’ project.
Thank you.
