Zana Fraillon was born in Melbourne but spent her early childhood in SanFrancisco. Zana was inspired to write The Curiosities by her child, who wasdiagnosed with Tourette syndrome aged five. She wanted to show the world howneurodiversities can help people see the world in insightful, understanding andwondrously varied ways.

Phil Lesnie is a Sydney-based illustrator of children's books and a children'sbookseller. Phil's artwork is inspired by his Filipino heritage and the folklore tales -stories about aswang - that his mother told him as a child.

With the Curiosities, a whole world of wonders and possibles awaits.

Miro wakes one morning to find the world isn't quite the way he thought itwas. When the Curiosities choose Miro to nest on, Miro is led to discover allthe marvels waiting in the shadows where no-one else looks. Sometimes, though, the Curiosities can make Miro feel alone and invisible in thedarkness. But maybe Miro isn't as alone as he thinks ...

With themes of creativity, curiosity and neurodivergence, this is an essentialbook for every school, home and family.
