FP7 - RESEARCH POTENTIAL The Call in 2011
• FP7-REGPOT-2011-1Unlocking and developing the research potential in the EU’s convergence regions and outermost regions
FP7 Research Potential
Objectives:
• To stimulate the realisation of the full research potential of the enlarged Union by unlocking and developing the existing or emerging research potential in the EU’s convergence and outermost regions
• To strengthen the capacities of their researchers to successfully participate in research activities at EU level & in FP7
The Action Plan must include a set of coherent measures:
• Exchange of know-how and experience with at least 3 or more experienced and knowledgeable partner organisations elsewhere in the EU/ACs
• Recruitment by the selected research entities of incoming experienced researchers
• Acquisition, development, maintenance or upgrading of research equipment
• Organisation of workshops and conferences to facilitate knowledge transfer at national and international level and dissemination and promotional activities
• Ex-post Evaluation of applicants' research potential (optional)
Expected Impact
• Establish and expand networks across Europe to support high quality research, so that leading-edge research can thrive in the Convergence and Outermost regions;
• Increase the participation of beneficiaries in any scientific field covered by the EU FP7;
• Attract, develop and retain the best research professionals in the Convergence and Outermost regions' research centres;
• Up-grade and extend the laboratory equipment and research performance of the Convergence RTD actors to improve the research environment and ensure leadership;
• Increase the visibility of research centres in these regions and ensure the long-lasting strategic partnerships whilst developing the research skills of the future leaders in the concerned thematic domains;
• Demonstrate responsiveness to society and regional/European development concerns with involving relevant regional or national authorities at an early stage of the projects.
