Over five thousand years of history the world

has revolved around the power of kings and

bishops, warriors and priests, Attilas and Witch

Doctors, while unseen, unsung peasants

worked in obscurity, mercilessly exploited,

producing the goods that kept everyone else

alive. It was a profound intellectual error that

led to these ghastly historical consequences.

Ayn Rand’s seminal achievement was to

elevate the Producers: to show the importance

of the Businessman and the Intellectual in

human life, and to explain their liberation in the

Industrial Revolution. From Roman Emperors

to Medieval Popes this lecture will dig into her

distinctive view of history, and celebrate the

opportunity her ideas provide for the future.
