What is GIVING TUESDAY?

Our goal is to increase awareness and support for our efforts to change student lives at Foothill and De Anza. Both colleges

have positively impacted the lives of so many, and #GivingTuesday is an opportunity for those who have been impacted to

share why it is important to support both colleges. The Foothill-De Anza Foundation is an integral part of student success in that

it provides direct student assistance for items such as book vouchers, scholarships, and internships. Funds raised also support

programs across campus, thus making a critical difference in the academic lives of thousands of students every year. Please

join us whether it's sharing your story, or making a donation - by giving back you will help change the lives of our students.

GIVING TUESDAY IS ABOUT GIVING BACK! WE HAVE A DAY FOR GIVING THANKS AND WE HAVE BLACK FRIDAYAND CYBER MONDAY FOR GETTING DEALS. AFTER THOSE TWO DAYS OF DEALS COMES #GIVINGTUESDAY, AGLOBAL DAY DEDICATED TO GIVING BACK TO THE CAUSES THAT MATTER THE MOST TO YOU.

How Do I get Involved?

Fundraising Pages

-Create your own personal fundraising page and ask your network to support

Foothill and De Anza. It is easy and a great way to tell our story. People give to

people! Speak from the heart on why you care and how Foothill or De Anza have

impacted your life or others around you.

-Consider a team fundraising page! It is a fun way to gather your friends and rally

together for a common cause.

-Go to https://fhda-givingtuesday2016.causevox.com/and click on 'Create a

Fundraising Page.' Our easy to use platform will guide you through the steps.

Social Media

-Take an #UNselfie and post on Instagram/Twitter or facebook, sharing why you

support Foothill and/or De Anza.

-Send an email to your friends and family asking for their support.

-Share on social media why you support Foothill or De Anza with the hashtag

#Give2FHDA

Identify yourself or another as a

"champion/ambassador" ­ this person will

share their story and make a call to action

to their network for support.

Finalize your story and create your

fundraising page.

Ask supporters to update their email

signatures with a link to your campaign

Announce your campaign on social media,

and start posting about why you are

participating in Giving Tuesday using the

hashtags #GivingTuesday and

#Give2FHDA.

Ask others to support you and take

#unselfies.

The day before­ Nov. 28Call to action!Remind key supporters that tomorrow

is the big day. Check in with

champions/ambassadors and make

sure they have messaging and

supporters ready.

November 29th ­ #GivingTuesdayShare, share, share! Encourage your

network to support your cause and

then share on their social media ­

remember, once donors give, they can

share the badge on their social media.

Be sure you are following FHDA

Foundation on facebook and twitter for

reposting opportunities and updates.

Say thank you to all the individuals

who supported, either through

donations or by sharing their stories,

and reaching out to their networks.

The Foundation will thank all of your

donors officially and will follow­up with

you so that you know who gave to

your campaign.

Plan a follow­up post and/or email

sharing with your supporters how

#GivingTuesday made an impact.

The #UNselfie, or the selfless selfie, is a powerful way to show others whyyou support Foothill and De Anza.

The #Unselfie

1.Take a "selfie" with a caption (or have it on a

card in the picture) explaining how or why you 

are supporting Foothill­De Anza this year.

"I care about Foothill­De Anza or program name

because...."

2. Always use the hashtags #Give2FHDA,

#UNselfie and #GivingTuesday when you post.

3. Post it to Instagram, Facebook and/or Twitter and

share with friends!

4. Have fun! Encourage students, alumni, parents,

anyone who is supportive of Foothill or De Anza to

take an #unselfie and post!
