Expanded Process Range

The Rotary Index is an integrated unit, allowing the cutting head to be positioned near the chuck— minimizing the dead zone. Bowed pipe or tub-ing can now be cut without vibration while maintaining accuracy from end to end. The innovative design expands process range capabilities to cut a signifi cantly wider variety of tubing and pipe. Machines using 3- or 4-jaw rotary chucks cannot process a similar range of materials without the use of fi xtures or collets. Amada’s FOM2 RI can process round, square, rectangle, C-channel, and angle iron, making it the most versatile Rotary Index laser cutting system available. Productivity is further enhanced with the use of Dr. Abe_Tube software. Many common shapes and confi gurations are already pre-programmed making it very easy to fabricate tubular structures that fi t together for welding.

The FOM2 3015 NT RI is engineered to include an innovative Rotary Index with the power and speed to effi ciently cut mid to thick materials. The Rotary Index is located on one of three shuttle pallets—making it extremely easy to switch from fl at sheet cutting to tube or pipe cutting.

Maintain Accuracy

Cut bowed pipe or tubing without vibration while maintaining accuracy from end to end. Machines using three- or four-jaw rotary chucks can’t process the same range of materials without the aid of fixtures or collets. The Rotary Index is an integrated unit, allowing the cutting head to be positioned near the controllable pneumatic chuck, thereby minimizing the “dead zone”.

Automatic Nozzle Changer

A standard nozzle changer promotes continuous, unat-tended operation. The 8-station changer automatically changes, cleans, and calibrates the nozzle and head based on the requirements for the material to be processed. This feature increases machine utilization while reducing overall processing time.

Dr. Abe _Tube Software

Productivity can be achieved by using Amada’s Dr. Abe_Tube software. Many common shapes and configurations are already pre-programmed, making it easier for you to fabricate tubular structures that fit together for welding. And it saves you time at the front end and back end, since it reduces the possibility of errors – and rework.

Superior Stability

The foundation for the FOM2 RI is built upon the third generation of Amada’s proven FO series that was introduced in 1999. The FOM2 RI combines features available on the FO series of lasers, as well as some of the leading-edge technology available on Amada’s F1 linear drive systems.

Resonator

At the heart of the FOM2 RI is the Amada/Fanuc RF excited resonator. This fast axial laser was designed specifically for Amada to produce the highest edge quality by improving the overall shape and stability of the laser beam itself, passing along that ability to you. In addition to superior edge quality, the FOM2 RI delivers faster cutting speeds than previous generations of lasers. The advanced features of the Fanuc resonator have made it the most reliable resonator available today.
