(A) Background of Spiritual Director For this tour, we have Rev Dr Peter Poon from Orchard Road Presbyterian Church, as our Spiritual Director. Rev Peter began his pastoral ministry in 1981 and has served in numerous churches and organisations, including All Saints Presbyterian Church, Youth for Christ International and Prinsep Street Presbyterian Church. Currently, he is the Christian Education Director of Orchard Road Presbyterian Church, and also spends a part of his time as the Training

Director of WorldTeach. Rev Peter brings a wealth of teaching experience and biblical insights as he leads tour groups to the Holy Land of Israel.

Depart Singapore for Istanbul (transit). Final flight destination is Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.

Transit flight: TK794 IST-TLV 0915/1120

Arrive in Tel Aviv, Israel in the morning and the tour begins. Travel up southwards towards (1) Caesarea and see this ancient Roman city and port built by King Herod. Next, visit (2) Megiddo (Armageddon), a fortress city where an apocalyptic battle is described. We will travel then to (3) Muhraka (Mt Carmel) and see the Carmelite monastery of St Elijah before checking into the hotel for the night.

Tour the sites around the south-west of Galilee. Visit (4) Mt Tabor - the Church of the Transfiguration, (5) Cana - the Wedding Church, (6) Nazareth - the Church of Annunciation.

In the morning, travel up south to Galilee to see Mt Beatitudes and visit (7) the Church of Mt Beatitudes, (8) Tabgha, and (9) the Church of St Peter’s Primacy. Next, travel to (10) Capernaum, the fishing village which was the centre of the ministry of Jesus. Later on, experience the (11) Sea of Galilee, where the accounts of Jesus walking on water and calming the storm come alive, on the boat ride out to the sea. Then visit the (12) Ancient Boat museum to understand more about the livelihood of the fishermen in the early century.

5 08 Apr, Fri

Check out of the hotel in the morning. Today, we will journey down southwards of Israel and explore the following biblical sites along the way. Visit the (13) Spring of Harod, also known as Gideon's spring, where the 300 valiant men were chosen (Judges 7:1-8). (14) Beth Shean was a significant town in the Old Testament during the time of King Saul and King Solomon. Visit (15) Tel- Jericho. There we will see the wall and the gate of the old city of Jericho and the (16) Sycamore tree in the story of Jesus and Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1-10). Also, visit the (17) Monastery of Temptation (Matthew 4:1-11). Then continue to travel down towards the Dead Sea and check in to the hotel.

6 09 Apr, Sat

In the morning, check out of the hotel and begin to journey down the ancient route around the Dead Sea region. Visit the (18) Qasr El Yahud Baptism site on the banks of the Jordan River. Arrangements for baptism are possible, if you wish to be baptised there. See the (19) Qumran caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Experience the fortified palace (20) Masada, which is built on top of a rock plateau. Finally, experience floating on the famous (21) Dead Sea, which is a must for any visitor to Israel. Then begin to journey to the city of Jerusalem and check in to the hotel.

7 10 Apr, Sun

Begin the day by exploring the city of Jerusalem. Visit Bethlehem, the birthplace of Christ, the (22) Church of the Nativity and (23) the Shepherd's Field. The (24) Church of the Ascension is located at a site believed to be where Jesus ascended 40 days of his resurrection (Luke 24:50-53). See the beautiful ceramic plaques of the Lord's prayer at (25) Church of Pater Noster. Then drive up to (26) Mt Olives to have a panoramic view of the Old city of Jerusalem. Next, walk the (27) Palm Sunday Path to enter into the old city. Stop over at (28) Dominus Flevit Chapel. Experience the moments before Christ was betrayed and captured at the (29) Garden of Gethsemane. Lastly, walk over to the (30) Church of All Nations.

8 11 Apr, Mon

Today we travel out of the old city and head to Mt Zion. First arrive at the (31) Upper room and see the traditional place of the Last Supper. Then, see the (32) Tomb of David, an important site for Jews. Next visit the (33) Church of St Peter in Gallicantu, which commemorates Peter's denial of Christ for 3 times. After that, we will explore the (34) City of David and see the following sites in the area – (35) Gihon Spring, (36) Hezekiah's Tunnel and the (37) Pool of Siloam. Also, in the evening, we will (38) meet with local Christians/missionaries and hear them share about their faith journeys.



9 12 Apr, Tue

Our first stop will be the Temple mount up at Mt Moriah. This is the sacred religious site for the Christians, Catholics, Muslims and Jews. See the (39) Dome of the Rock and the (40) Dome of Tablets. Walk further on to the (41) Western wall and then visit the (42) Western wall tunnel and explore the underground passageways of the old temple. Next, see the (43) Pool of Bethesda located at the Muslim quarters of the old city and then enter into (44) Church of St Anne that is located next to the Pool. Lastly, at (45) Via Dolorosa we will begin the walk down the path supposedly taken by Christ on his way to be crucified. (46) The Church of Holy Sepulchre will be the last stop of the walk.



10 13 Apr, Wed

Check out of the hotel in the morning. On the last day, we begin at the (47) Garden Tomb. Here we will have a short time of worship and partake of the Holy Communion. Next, visit the (48) Israel Museum and see the Jerusalem Model and other ancient artefacts and exhibits. We will then depart towards Tel-Aviv and on the way there we will visit (49) Emmaus where Jesus appeared to the two disciples after His resurrection. At Tel Aviv, see (50) Jaffa, the ancient port city and visit the (51) house of Simon of Tanner, the traditional site where Peter had the vision at the rooftop.
