When we consider his journey to the cross, we simply stand amazed. But just knowing that C hrist died for our sins is not enough! I have often said that faith is not what you know about God . . . but what you do with what you know! Jesus’ brother J ames’ said, “Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead!” I know we are saved by faith alone, and not by works. But, James is describing what “real faith” looks like and it’s not just a particular belief, knowledge or understanding about Godit’s doing something with it, some work of obedience . . . to God! Faith is never measured by how much you know about G od. That would be unfair . . . because we all know different amounts of things. R ather, faith is “what you do with what you know!” As a result of J esus journey to the cross, we are now not saved by good works, but rather saved for good works. We all might know a lot about Jesus, but the more important question is “What did we do with it?” Pastor Rick Published Weekly by the First United Methodist Church 132 Cherokee Rd. "You say you can't see him. but he will bring justice if you will only wait" Job 35:14 I think about the 12 that gave up all to follow a man that simply walked by and said follow me, what compelled them in that moment to turn? They obviously could see him, they could follow and mimic his every move to learn of his greatness and love. When Jesus moved they moved, when Jesus ate, they ate, when he rested they rested, when he spoke they listened. So how does this verse weave into this fact? The 12 had to wait and see the full measure of the glory to come, as they walked the dusty streets with Jesus. They had to wait to see the full justice of God revealed on the cross. After that they had to wait for the Holy Spirit to come upon them. Once filled, they had to then walk as we do, without seeing Him, yet they then had to wait again until the revelation of Heaven they had heard so much about. The 12 had to live a life for many years after the cross with the memory of the brief moments they had with the life lived with the son of God. I am almost certain, even knowing all they knew, they had doubts at times waiting on the justice of God as they were beaten and mocked, all killed for the sake of the man they gave all to follow. Waiting is hard, even when we can see what we are waiting on. Jesus knew the magnitude of waiting to follow the leading of God, the 12 learned it along the path, we are doing just the same each day. No, we cannot see Him, but we have the assurance that He is there and that Heaven truly does await all who turn and follow Him. JUSTICE SHALL COME TO ALL THE EARTH, make certain you are

following the one who will bring it, jason
