Who is Flat Stanley???

• Flat Stanley has a series of books written by Jeff Brown

• Flat Stanley is a boy who was flattened by a bulletin board

• He goes on many wild adventures all over the world

How Can I bring it to my classroom???

• First on move up day I talk to the students about the project and give them a Flat Stanley or

Stacey to decorate• Next I send a letter home to the parents detailing our project

What is Expected of the students???

• The students will take Flat Stanley home for summer vacation

• It is there turn to give him an adventure, every time they’re doing something fun, they take or draw a picture of it.

Here are some examples…

Now that the summer is over…

• The students will make a scrapbook of their adventures with Flat Stanley

• In the first few days of school they will share their scrapbooks with the class

• We will begin reading The Adventures of Flat Stanley chapter book by Jeff Brown

• Teachers can pick up the Flat Stanley packet from me to see the many extended activities to make their project a success!!!
