The Boeing Employees’ Ski and Snowboard Club, SKIBACS, is pleased to announce there will be three ski vacation destinations offered for members and their guests during the upcoming 2021 ski season! A brief description of each is provided in this Trip Book teaser. Stay tuned for more details as we work to finalize all the trips, including implementation of any necessary precautions to address the COVID-19 pandemic.

Whistler, B.C., Canada

The first trip will be in January to the mountain that hosted ski and snowboard events for the 2010 Winter Olympics, Whistler Blackcomb. With a jaw-dropping 8,171 skiable acres of terrain on two side-by-side mountains and over 200 marked runs, 16 alpine bowls, and 3 glaciers, there is sure to be something for everyone! https://www.whistlerblackcomb.com

Accommodations will be provided by the Listel Hotel. Located in a quiet cul-de-sac in the heart of the main village. The Listel is close to fantastic restaurants, shopping and is only a few minutes walk to the main gondolas. https://listelhotel.com

Sun Peaks, B.C., CanadaThe second trip will be to Sun Peaks during the last week of January. Deep steeps, long cruisers, glade zones, powder stashes, and corduroy groomers can all be found within 4,270 acres of skiable terrain. Three mountains surround a European-style, ski-through village filled with quaint shops, cafés, and eateries. Sun Peaks has an abundance of activities and events for both on and off the slopes, leaving you wishing only for more time at Canada's second largest ski area. https://www.sunpeaksresort.com/explore/sun-peaks-in-winter

Accommodations will be provided by the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel, located in the core of the European-inspired resort. The Sun Peaks Grand has chairlifts at the doorstep, as well as an on-site grocery store, boutiques, eateries, and brand-new guest rooms. https://www.sunpeaksgrand.com

Lodge work party

Now that Pierce County has moved into Phase 2, we are tentatively planning a one-day work party on June 27th to clean the lodge and evaluate priorities. Then on Aug 1-2, host a two-day work party to address those priorities.

In addition to cleaning and priorities, here is a list of projects that need immediate attention that we need help with - oil storage tank, chimney cap, chimney masonry repair, and Caretaker’s deck/stairs.

Sign up for these events will be necessary to ensure we are adhering to the 50% capacity of the Lodge. Facemask will be required. We have about ten N95 masks up at the lodge that we can provide for folks that need one however please try to bring one from home.

Please stay tune for more information. With any questions or concerns contact Kevin Reagan at 253-677-5245 or [email protected].

Thank you, stay safe and healthy out there in these trying times.
