FineReport Introduction

Deployment Instruction

1. Transmit the deployment package to the server

In the picture below, the deployment package is transmitted to a folder named opt inthe Linux server.

2. Unzip the deployment package

1) Open the command window and use the commands below to unzip thedeployment package.cd opt/# Change the current working directory to optls# View all files and folders in opt to check whether the deployment package wassuccessfully transmittedchmod 770 tomcat-linux_ENG.tar.gz# Enable current user to access the deployment packagetar -zxvf tomcat-linux_ENG.tar.gz# Unzip the deployment package

2) A folder named tomcat-linux_ENG is created after the unzipping.ll# View all files and folders in opt, along with their detailed information-l# Use this for Ubuntu

3. Start Tomcat

1) Change the current working directory to the folder named bin in the unzippeddeployment package.chmod 770 -R tomcat-linux_ENG# Enable current user to access the unzipped deployment package as well as thedirectories and files insidecd tomcat-linux_ENG/bin/# Change the current working directory to the folder named bin, which stores thestartup and shutdown files of Tomcat2) Run the file named startup.sh../startup.sh# Run the startup file of Tomcat

3) Check the status of Tomcat.tail -f ../logs/catalina.out# Output Tomcat logsThe last 2 rows of log indicate that Tomcat was started normally and uses port 8080.

Platform Initialization and Login

1. Visit FineReport Platform

You will need to configure port 8080 and 38888.Visit http://ip:8080/webroot/decision/ (e.g.http://159.138.212.61:8080/webroot/decision for the on-cloud platform) in thebrowser to open the system initialization page.

2. Set Super-admin Account

Set the username and password for the super administrator.

Check whether the information is correct in the next page. This information willappear only once.

3. Set Platform Configuration Database

You may choose to use the embedded HSQL database, or to configure your owndatabase to store the platform data.For official use, External Database Configuration is recommended.

4. Log into the Platform

After initialization, users of this platform can login by visiting the web link.

For on-cloud users, you can try a demo account:Username: demoPassword: 123456

Register License

To provide users with an in-depth trial experience, the downloadable application is afull-featured version with restrictions on concurrency. To remove or partially removethe restrictions, you must register official license on FineReport Server.You can find the registration information in Manage -> Registration. For anunregistered server, [Not Registered] is displayed for Version Registration. Serverregistration is needed in this case.

Click on [Sign Up Now] to see all the available options.

Select Local Machine Info AUTH for AUTH Method.

Check if the Machine Information is correct.

A RegistrationInformation.rif file, which contains sensitive information regarding theserver, will be automatically downloaded after clicking on Export RegistrationInformation. Please handle it with caution.

After sending this rif file to FineReport Business Department, you will receive yourlicense file.Go to Manage -> Registration and click [Upload File] to import the authorization file.The registration process takes around 1 min.

The registration process should be completed and successful by now. You can alsoclick on [Re-register] to select the AUTH Method and upload a lic file again.
