Final Reflection Paper Due: November 30 in class

Throughout this semester, you have been presented with many different opportunities to broaden your horizons. Diversity can mean several things – anything from differences in your cultural background to your learning style. The list below encompasses some of the things we have done as a part of M 100 this semester related to diversity:

Diversity Group Discussions Introduction to professional and student mentors Campus Resources presentation Learning Styles Inventory Presentation on first impressions Learning about different majors, minors, and concentrations Student Network Group events Global Exposure & International Opportunities

For this assignment, reflect on the many opportunities and discussions you have had to learn more about your personal, professional and academic development related to diversity. Think specifically about your interactions with your Student Network Groups (SNGs) and the events you attended for your SNG assignments.

Answer the following questions as a part of your reflection WITH SPECIFIC EXAMPLES from this semester:

How have your experiences with the Student Network Groups, events you have attended, small-group discussions in class, and other university activities challenged, reinforced, or expanded your views of the world as well as NC State’s campus?

What have you learned about yourself as a result of your participation in your Student Network Group? What have you learned about your group? Has your group served as a support during this semester? If so, in what ways? If not, who has served as a supportive network for you on campus?

What is your definition of diversity? Has it changed this semester? Is diversity important? Why or why not?
