Natural Power QSO’s Completed

We completed 5 phone QSO’s on 40 meters using a Yaesu FT-817 running at 5W feeding aBuddipole at about 10 feet. The power to the radio was supplied by a 10 watt solar panelcharging a gel-cell battery. The apparatus was setup at the information booth and is shownbelow. The stations contacted were: W8TNO, KD2A, W3SJI, W4CA, and K3YTL.
