THE GOTA STATION ALLOWS CONTROL OPERATORS THE CHANCE TO LET NEWLYLICENSED AMATEURS AND CURIOUS VISITORS EXPERIENCE SOME OF THE MAGICOF AMATEUR RADIO. Natural Power QSO’s Completed

We completed 5 phone QSO’s on 40 meters using a Yaesu FT-817 running at 5W feeding a fullsize 80M horizontal loop. The power to the radio was supplied by a 10 watt solar panel charginga gel-cell battery. The apparatus was setup at the information booth and is shown below.
