The Balmoral has partnered with Scottish jewellery house Hamilton & Inches to celebrate their upcoming collection in Scottish Gold. Working with hotel florists, Planet Flowers, the lobby will be a striking celebration in metallic hues. Having created the hotel’s famous clock mechanic in 1902, Hamilton & Inches has also been commissioned to create a limited edition Balmoral charm - in silver and gold - which will retail over the festive season and feature in a Christmas turndown service for the Scone & Crombie suite.

Our finest suite has been given the midas touch by Hamilton & Inches offering a unique experience for guests this festive season. Leaving from the hotel, guests will be transported to the Cononish gold and silver mine near Tyndrum in the Highlands, to see Scottish Gold being extracted from the earth. They will be welcomed back to the jeweller’s Edinburgh showroom for a private audience with Master Jeweller, Chay McClory, who will discuss the creation of a piece of bespoke handcrafted jewellery made from Scottish gold. A drawing of the piece will be presented to the

guests during their stay and crafted in the weeks following their visit. The hospitality from The Balmoral will include a two night stay in the Scone & Crombie suite, return airport transfers and two Scottish Gold cocktails to be enjoyed in Bar Prince.

The Golden Christmas Experience costs £20,000 which includes the creation of a bespoke piece of jewellery in Scottish gold to the value of £5,000.

The Balmoral plays host to the capital’s most glamorous Hogmanay celebration. Our grand gala ball merges contemporary entertainment with Scottish tradition like the colours of a fine tartan weave. The evening will commence with the sounds of the pipes and drums of the Royal Burgh of Stirling, offering a dramatic welcome to our Hogmanay celebrations.

A Champagne and canapé reception will follow in our Holyrood Suite accompanied by live music. A grand four-course dinner, created by our Executive Chef, Jeff Bland, will then be served in the Sir Walter Scott Suite coupled with the finest of wines as selected by our dedicated Sommelier. The ceilidh band will offer clear instructions to help even the most inexperienced guests to take to the floor.
