Big Break Visitor Center Opens September 22

The Big Break Visitor Center is an inno-vative 5,000 square foot building with a unique focus – science education; en-hanced awareness of the Delta ecosys-tems; and California history. The Center is home to interpretive exhibits and a science lab. It is the fi rst new visitor center the Park District has built in 38 years. When fully operational, Park District in-terpretive staff will offer both public and school-related programs for all ages. The center is the only educational facility lo-cated on the Delta for the exclusive study of this complex California resource, and it is the fruition of decades of leadership by Oakley and East Contra Costa County leaders.
