Director’s MessageDear Residents,

Wow, it seems like summer flew by so quickly. I hope you have enjoyed at least one Parks and Recreation activity this summer. As we close out summer, our department is heavily engaged in planning the Fall/Winter activities and programs which you will find in this activity guide. We have a new addition to our Halloween Workshop, which is a neat aquatic portion! Bring your family down to the swimming pool and have the opportunity to dive in and pick a pumpkin and even decorate it. We hope you will include some of the many activities listed in this guide as part of your upcoming plans. This season we are offering some new classes which include a new theater production class and even new sports programs as well as returning some of your favorites. Classes fill up quickly, so register early! Staying active year-round promotes health and wellness and Hercules Parks & Recreation has you covered all year round. In addition to our programs, joining community-based recreation activities is a great way to meet people in your community with similar interests. Please do not hesitate to call us with suggestions or ideas you may have to help improve the parks and recreation programs and activities we offer.

For the most up to date information please visit our website at www.herculesrec.com, as we continue to expand the information that is currently listed. You may also give us a call directly at (510) 799-8291!

Zumba GoldZumba Gold targets the largest growing segment of the population: baby boomers. It takes the Zumba formula and modifies the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle. What stays the same are all the elements the Zumba Fitness-Party is known for: the zesty Latin music, like salsa, merengue, cumbia and reggaeton; the exhilarating, easy-to-follow moves; and the invigorating, party-like atmosphere. Active older adults want camaraderie, excitement and fitness as a regular part of their weekly schedule. Zumba Gold is the perfect fit. A dance-fitness class that feels friendly, and most of all, fun!
