with our many framing opti ons for use with Pyro E d ge and Pyrobel fire and safety

ra ted gl a z i n g.

As you look through these numerous framing options, you will soon find you are

no longer limited by old fashioned products. Today, an open and aesthetically

pleasing environment is at the will and imagination of the designer.

Flexible framing solutions offer free vision for unique interiors.

Th e Quick-Frame system is code appr oved for expansive one and two-hour

transparent walls utilizing Pyrobel-60 and Pyrobel-120. This fast and

inexpensive system uses steel stud and gypsum construction and allows you to fin-

ish the wall however you wish—wood, aluminum, or steel to match the s ur-

rounding environment—providing an elegant framing solution without

affecting the fire rating.

The StileLite temperature rise framing provides a slim 1-7/8” profile for

60-minute transparent walls, and can incorporate fully glazed 60-minute

doors for a floor to ceiling continuous glazed system.

Explore new possibilities in transparent walls with the 7000 Series curtain-

wall system. Using proprietary framing from Hope’s Windows in conjunction with

Pyrobel glazing from AGC InterEdge, this system offers you complete flexibil-ity in designing your fire rated walls from 1 to 2-hours. The 7000 Series system

allows unobstructed views and light, maximizing your design possibilities with

floor to ceiling glazing and a minimal profile.

20- AND 45-MINUTE APPLICAT I O N S

The FlameTech® Series of fire rated wood door frames acts as a

barrier to fire and smoke without sacrificing the fine wood mate-

rials and expert craftsmanship that artchitects and designers look

for. The FlameTech product line includes 45 and 20-minute fire

rated solid wood d oor frames, sidelights, borrowed lights and

vi s i on lights in a va ri ety of con f i g u ra ti ons and large size s .

Products can be finished to match or complement the design of

any i n teri or are a .

Listed by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL) and ITS Testing Services, Inc. (Warnock-Hersey). Tested using positive pressure UBC7-2 (1997) and UL-10C standards. Intumescent compounds: Frame liner: PEMKO #FGL4000; Stops: PEMKO #FGS4000, #FG1000.

Quick-Frame

The Quick - Frame Sys tem is de s i gn ed to provi de maximum de s i gn

f l ex i bi l i ty as well as a low co s t , e a s y - to - con f i g u re framing sys tem

for on - s i te con s tru cti on . It is approved for the install a ti on of 4 5 ,

6 0 , 90 and 120-minute Pyrobel fire and safety ra ted gl a z i n g.

When designing the Quick-Frame system for a 1-hour wall

assembly, the vertical sill, jambs and head will only require one

boxed 20 gauge steel stud and track. However, in a 2-hour wall

and any time the glass will be stacked, then a double steel stud a n d

track wi ll be requ i red for the mu ll i on s , s i ll s , jambs and head , as in

the ‘ Mu ll i on Det a i l ’ s h own on page 11.

Once the base frame is designed you have a multitude of options

for the finish at the edges of the glass. The simple solution is the

gypsum board finish and paint. In addition, wood molding of any

species, steel and aluminum are approved to provide a more ele-

gant solution.

Typ i c a lly the Quick - Frame sys tem for 60 and 120-minute wall sys-

tems is not limited in scope (hei ght and width) by building code s .

However, wh en exceeding 10 feet in hei ght it is recom m en ded that

plans be approved by a stru ctu ral en gi n eer who wi ll take into

account the integri ty and seismic con s i dera ti ons of the wall

i n cluding the ad d i ti on of the gl a z i n g.

Due to slight con s tru cti on ad ju s tm ents in the field it is alw ays be s t

to con s tru ct the frame pri or to ordering the Pyrobel gl a z i n g.

However, the 1" stop hei ghts can norm a lly make up for any sligh t

va ri a ti on s .

Finally, building inspectors, fire marshals and other authorities

h aving ju ri s d i cti on may not be familiar with this type of

system. Be sure that you have discussed and obtained their

approval prior to beginning your project. Sometimes it is helpful

when discussing 60 and 120-minute systems to refer to them as

transparent walls as they are tested to the same rigors as a stan-

dard 60 and 120-minute wall.

z Tested as a 60 and 120-minute wallsystem

z Provides more light and viewingbetween one and two-hour occu-pancy separations

z System eliminates restrictions onglazing percentage of wall area

z Tested to positive pressure standards

z Utilizes Pyrobel glazing tested tomaximum safety requirements underall codes

z Convenient on-site constructionspeeds installation

z Uses standard building materials

z Decorative coverings such as wood, steel or aluminum may be used tomatch the surrounding area

z For use in interior applications only

Note:AGC InterEdge Technologies does not provide any material for this framing option other than the glazing, glazing tape andsetting blocks. The Quick-Frame wall system is constructed on-site using steel stud and gypsum board as shown in the detail on thefollowing pages.
