Expression of Interest

Norways Customs Sports Association (TIF Tollvesenets Idrettsforening) – as a member of the European Customs Sports association (ECSA) – wishes to invite you to the “European Golf Team Championship” in Spain, September 2020

The event will take place in Benidorm at the Melia Villaitana Hotel, at Levante Golf Course from 17 to 20 September 2020. (arriving 17st of September and leaving the 20th of September)

If your Customs Administration would like to participate at the 2020 ESCA European Golf Team Championship please reply by email before 31 January 2020 to the following e-mail address: Jostein.Hagen@toll.no

Your initial response will form the basis for your Customs Administration’s entry to the event. We will invite all countries to complete the formal entry forms in early 2020 via your countries Director General.

Conditions of Entry

In keeping with ECSA’s aim to strengthen ties between European customs administrations and promotion of sport and cultural cooperation Norway would like to foster and encourage wider participation in joint sporting activities – in this instance through GOLF.

Participation

Participation in the team Championship is open to members of the Customs Administrations of all ECSA member countries. Each Customs Administration is invited to send one or more teams of 4 players. Each player should have an officially recognised handicap, as the competition will be run in lines with R&A Governing rules. As host Organisers TIF (Tollvesenets Idrettsforening) will reserve the right to limit the number of teams, subject to the Expressions of Interest received.

Equally, if individual Customs Administrations are only able to nominate fewer than 4 team players TIF may accept nominations of one, two or three individual players in order to make up composite teams. Non-player (participating guests) will also be welcome to come along, they will be able to accompany the golfers as spectators and attend the buffets.

Team selection & format

Ladies (F) and gentlemen (M) can represent the Customs Administration team. Each team will, however, be made up of two pairings: either M/M, F/F or M/F. Cumulative scores from both pairings will carry forward over two days of competition in support of the overall team champions.

Day 1: Arrival & practice round, if required.Day 2: Round 1 of competition – will be 18 holes of Better Ball Pairs Stableford.Day 3: Round 2 of competition – will be 18 holes of Greensome Pairs Stableford.Day 4: Breakfast and leaving

There will be prizes for the overall European team champions, individual best pairs, as well as best pairs for each day of competition, and other combinations (for example, best M/M, F/F, M/F etc. for first to third place). There will also be fun prizes including Nearest the Pin and Longest Drives for both days.

Golf & Hotel package:

The participation cost will be approximately €430 per participant and will include:

Occupancy in a twin room with breakfast, 17.9 – 20.9 (3 nights – based on two people sharing a room). Including:- 2 rounds at Levante Course, 18.9 and 19.9- Dinner with drinks included, 2 nights (including wine, beers and soft drinks)

Extra supplement:- Occupancy in single room, € 35 per person per night - Buggy to share 2 round, € 38 per person - Transfer from Alicante Airport – Melia Villaitana, approximately € 12- Transfer from Melia Villaitana - Alicante Airport, approximately € 12 depending of number of persons and coaches

The participation cost for non-player will be approximately € 315 (included dinner 2 nights) More detailed information will be provided early in March 2020.

LEVANTE GOLF COURSE

Between the Finestrat mountains and the Mediterranean Sea lies the Levante Golf Course Par 72, offering wonderful views of the Costa Blanca. An American style course measuring over 6,576 metres with wide fairways and exquisitely shaped greens.

Also known as "Championship", this well-designed golf course has 5 different tee markings per hole. The layout of its 106 bunkers and the three large lakes that complete and decorate the course make reaching the hole challenging for both amateur and professional golfers.
