2.1 How to setup your security profile

It's important never to reveal your security details to anyone else and, for additional security, you

will be required to change your password on a regular basis.

If you suspect someone has seen or knows your security details (i.e. User Account ID, Password and

Passphrase), you should reset your details immediately.

It is important that only you can access the online service, therefore, it is always recommended that

if you leave your PC unattended you lock your PC, and when you have finished using the online

service you close down your Internet browser.

If at any time further assistance is required please call the Experian

Service Support desk on +44 (0) 115 9344 444, quoting reference ‘IDM’.

To access your WASP protected Experian product it is necessary for you to first register a profile in

Experian’s Self Service facility.

When your account was created, you should have received three emails from Experian.

The first email contains the Account User ID you will use to logon with, as illustrated in Fig. 1

Here you can choose your WASP password and passphrase.

The passphrase can contain only alpha numeric characters and must be between 8 and 12 characters

in length.

A note on Password Complexity

Passwords must be a minimum of 8 characters long, up to a maximum of 32 characters.

Passwords must contain characters from three of the following four categories:

Lowercase characters

Uppercase characters

Numerical digits (0 to 9)

Special characters except & + ‘

Also, in case you may forget these credentials in the future; you will need to select three security

Questions and Answers. These can be used when going through a self-service forgot/reset password

process flow, detailed later in this guide.

After you have successfully saved your profile you will see a screen to that effect.

This confirms that once you have registered your profile, your Experian Product access is in place

and ready to use. Note, the wording in this email may vary depending on the product you have been

assigned.

be used once and furthermore it expires after 10 minutes. If you click this link after the link has

expired you will be offered the chance to enter your User Account ID and email address to re-send a

new registration link.
