Term 3, Week 4 Tuesday 5th August 2014

Dear Families, Congratulations to our PCS choir and Year 2 Performance dancers for a sensational performance at the PCS Music Festival last Tuesday evening. It was a fantastic evening of talent and a great celebration of Public Education. Thank you to the parents who attend our P&C meeting last Wednesday evening. It was a productive and highly effective meeting where there was a spirit of collaboration and valuable feedback. The Bicycle/Scooter policy was ratified and will be up loaded to our website this Friday and introduced to our students next week. We are working on some feedback given to us regarding the Homework policy and its timeframe. There is a small committee from the P&C and myself going down to Warringah Council Chambers this Tuesday to present our case for a pedestrian crossing on Telopea Street. We are extremely grateful to Mr Hazzard, Warringah Council and the Road and Maritime Services for the installation of school signs and School Speed Zones and are continuing to make the street and school area even safer for our children. We will keep you posted on the outcome.

The staff and students thank the parents and wider school community for their tireless efforts in fundraising and supporting the various fund raising activities. One of which was our Disco last Friday. It was a great event; the students had an absolute blast. I would like to thank the groovy mums Julie Lewis, Kate Javor, Sue Douglas and Sheeylan Ross. I would also like to thank the mums and dads, in particular Scott Lewis for all the decorations in the hall. It was a fun event.

Tomorrow is a big day in our school calendar with CPPS holding its Open Day for Parents, Grandparents and Grand Friends. Please see attached program and map.

PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE IN CLASS FOR GYM DISPLAY. 5J will now be showcasing their gymnastics skills not 4B. The Drama films will be showing in 5J’s classroom next to the computer lab. Our apologies for this change in our Open Day program. We are looking forward to sharing the day with you, showcasing our talented and amazing students.

We thank you for providing a plate of food to share with each other for morning tea.

Unit Lunch is fast approaching, Week 6, Wednesday,20th August. There was a flyer included in last week’s newsletter informing you of either ordering on line through flexi schools or paper order. There are spare Unit Lunch paper order forms in the front office.

Congratulations to those students who have achieved Gold Awards and Platinum Awards. We are very proud of your efforts and achievements. Please refer to the Award table included in this newsletter.

Dear Performance Dance Parents,

Congratulations to all of our superb Performance Dance students who performed at Open Day today in our Dance Showcase! This was the Junior Boys, Senior Boys, Year 5 and Year 6 Girls last performance. Your child’s performance dance costume is included in their dances fees, so students can now keep their costumes or donate them to our CPPS Drama program. If this is the case, please send them in a plastic bag labelled Drama to the school office. Year 4, Year 3 and Year 2 Girls Performance Dance groups will be performing at the Collaroy Carnival on the 8th November 2014.
