Events of the week
The educational programs are the backbone of Congress, and nurses attending Congress had their choice of more than 50 offerings during the five days. Some of the most popular sessions were on surgical attire, the sensuous manager, sports medicine, and Saturday night trauma. A unique series on perioperative nursing was well attended.
The technical and scientific exhibits, one of the largest in the field, was open Tuesday through Thursday, and the approximately 4,000 exhibitors manned booths of 260 companies. The exhibitors provided a variety of social events, including the traditional exhibitors party. This year the party was a lively discotillion, offering both disco and big band music for dancing.
Each morning. registrants can catch up on what's happening in the Congress News.

Gruendemann presented plaques to Helen Polauf, secretary, and Cynthia Hayes, Shirley Phillips, and Jacqueline Reardon, who are retiring from the Board of Directors. Gruendemann also recognized the administrator and director of nursing from Centinela Hospital, Inglewood, Calif, where she is employed. New officers came on stage.
