Key statistics
The European Gas Conference continues to grow, bringing you a truly pan-European attendee profi le representing the entire value chain.
Welcome
Dear colleague,
The Energy Exchange and OMV invite you to join over 300 leading stakeholders from the European gas industry at the 2011 European Gas Conference.
There is no doubt that natural gas will be the most important energy source in the future. Still, security of energy supply and diversifi cation of sources remain high on the agenda for policy makers and gas companies alike. Several important gas pipeline projects are progressing and the question remains: where will the gas for the increasing demand come from? Can Russia cover the additional gas demand for the future growth of Europe? Will the Caspian region and Middle East be able to supply enough gas to Europe?
With the 3rd Energy Package, the European Commission has initiated the process to further develop and liberalise the integrated European gas market. Member states are currently working on implementing the new rules in their national legislation, amid intense debates between politicians, regulatory bodies and the industry.
At the conference we will discuss the status and outcomes and whether the new regulations are really enabling further liquidity and transparency in the European markets.
The European Gas Conference 2011 will thus provide you with an up-to-date picture of the gas industry and you will join key industry experts for an interesting and diverse debate on the most vital issues for industry leaders like yourself.
We look forward to welcoming you to Vienna to join Europe’s most stimulating debate.
The European Gas Conference 2011. Diversify Sources. Secure Supply.
