Main achievements
TR 102 638: Basic set of applications• A set of applications that scope our current specification work
• A set of applications that are considered deployable at first step after standardization completion
• Safety, traffic efficiency and other applications are included in the BSA
TS 102 637 sets:• TS 102 637 – 1: BSA functional requirements• TS 102 637 – 1: BSA functional requirements
• Functional analysis of all use cases belonging to the BSA
• TS 102 637 – 2: Cooperative Awareness Basic Service• A heartbeat message that is sent periodically by vehicles and road side
• TS 102 637 – 3: Decentralized Environmental Notification Basic Service• An event driven message that announces the detected road hazard
• TS 102 637 – 4: BSA operational requirements (stable draft)
Test specifications • CAM, DENM specifications (collaboration with STF experts)

Ongoing work - applications 1/2
WG1 has initiated the work since October 2010• The WI scope is defined based on Minimum Set of Applications and
agreement of work split between ETSI and CEN
• All applications are from BSA
Three WIs on safety applications (V2V based)• TS 101 539 – 1: Co-operative Awareness application
• Cooperative awareness of the driving environment • Cooperative awareness of the driving environment
• No collision risk
• TS 101 539 – 2: Intersection Collision Risk Warning• Detection of collision risk with detection means and/or from received CAM/DENM
• Triggering of intersection collision risk warning message DENM
• TS 101 539 – 3: Longitudinal Collision Risk Warning • Detection of collision risk by vehicles or by a third part (e.g. from road side)
• Triggering of longitudinal collision risk warning message DENM
One WI on electric vehicle Points of Interest application • TS: Electric Vehicle Charging Spot Notification Specification

Close collaboration is set up
between ESTI TC ITS WG1 and ISO
TC 204 WG14 to harmonize the
application specifications !
Ongoing work – facilities
TS 102 894 : Facilities layer architecture (stable draft)• To define the overall functional architecture of the facilities
• To identify the main components of the facilities layer
TR 102 863 : Local dynamic Map (stable draft ongoing STF)• To identify the standard needs for the LDM
TS: Service announcement • To announce the available services
• To announce the communication profile to be used to access to the service• To announce the communication profile to be used to access to the service
• Close collaboration with WG2
TS: Communication management • To define the communication profile
• To define the policies to select the communication profile for communication
• Close collaboration with WG2
TS: position and time• Specifications of position and time information used in messages
• Data quality based on application requirements

Collaborations and harmonisation
1/2
Close collaboration with Car to car
communication consortium C2CCC
• Contributions of technical specifications from
C2CCC APP WGC2CCC APP WG
• Common agreement on standard needs
• Information exchange with C2CC RM WG
Liaisons with Field Operational Test (FoT)
projects
• FoTs contribute to the ETSI specification work
• WG1 provides basic specifications to FoT
• FoTs provide feedbacks and changes requests to Footer text (edit in View : Header and Footer)10
International harmonisation 2/2
WG1 contributes to the discussions of the
international harmonization in the task force
Application specificationsApplication specifications
• Close collaborations with ISO TC 204 WG14
International harmonization of message sets
• Harmonization needs and work method are under
discussions
• Harmonized data element definition
• Harmonized message general structure
• Messages content may vary depending on needs of Footer text (edit in View : Header and Footer)11
Future steps
Continuation of ongoing work
Launch of new work
• Release 2 of CAM, DENM specifications based on
FoT feedbacksFoT feedbacks
• Validation test of CAM/DENM (STF) and other test
specifications
• Common data container for messages (probably
needs international harmonization)
• Facilities layer congestion control
Collaboration with CEN
• New messages sent from infrastructure to Footer text (edit in View : Header and Footer)12
