Professor Omae, whose intended role was as co-chairman of Session I, was in fact absent from most of the meeting because of an unforeseen disruption of his travel plans. The text incorrectly titled 'Closing Remarks' was prepared from notes received from Professor Omae which we wrongly assumed were intended for publication in the Drugs supplement. Furthermore, because of a grammatical misunderstanding, Professor Omae's intended meaning was misinterpreted: isradipine is not yet available in Japan for the treatment of hypertension. We apologise for any confusion this may have caused.
