Environmental & Sustainability Studies Articulation Agreement:
Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Quinsigamond Community College
Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and Quinsigamond Community College (QCC) recognize that for
some students, the path to a bachelor’s degree may involve preparatory work at a community college. To
assist students who wish to pursue such an option, WPI agrees to formalize an articulation agreement in
Environmental & Sustainability Studies with QCC.
Terms of Agreement
Both colleges agree to the following items:
1. WPI agrees to accept—as advanced sophomores or juniors—all QCC graduates who have successfully
completed the program of study listed in this document. And upon proper application and the positive
recommendation of the two-year college, they must meet the admissions qualifications as set forth by
WPI's admissions office. In general, all students with a 3.0 grade-point average (GPA) will be accepted
from QCC. Students with a GPA below 3.0 will be considered on a case-by-case basis.*
2. With careful planning, students completing the above requirements should be able to graduate from
WPI in two years.
3. Faculty members and administrative professionals from both institutions should be encouraged to visit
each other’s campus and confer on matters of curriculum content and program details.
4. The program will be described on each college’s website.
5. This agreement will be updated triennially and may be terminated or renegotiated at the request of
either institution, giving due protection to those students enrolled at either institution who expect to
pursue this plan of study.
*Students wishing to change their major to something other than Environmental & Sustainability Studies will
be subject to standard WPI admission requirements.
