For the purposes ,of this Proclmnution the term ,,live stot'k" :;hall be Laken to mean _and include any of the rouow;ug animals: horse, mule, donkey, I.Juli, ox, cow, hcirer, c:i ll", sheep, goat or pig an<l any oLher animal which the i\dmin_istra tor may .indicate by notice published in the G:w?tte but shall not include hor~es, mul es, donkeys or cattle being bona fide employed in drawing any vehicle or any riding animal being bona fide l'mpl-oyed for riding.

E\·ery permit issued under this Proclamation shall d ml.ain a description sufficient for identification of the livestock in re-spect of which 1·emoval i<; authol·­ised is welt as the· n ame and adrlr-ess of the owner thereof and of the person in cha rg:e thereof during the rc.mo v:il and the purpose for which removal is llcing made.

H. Mtcr rnmo\':1l.of any livcstoc-k it shall bo the duty of m·ery Jl-l~r<;on recei.ving the same to demand from the person making delivery the permit authorbing such

7. 1 t shall be -lawful .fur lthe Admi,nistralor by n-O tice in the Gazette to establish and define any area in the Pro tectorate fr.om within which removal ;qJ livestock to a)ly other portion -of the Proteotorate shall be .prohibited. Ally person ,who, ·a'fter 'the issue of such nv tice, i·em-oves nny livestock from 'within s uch area ,outside suc'h area, shall he 'guilty of an offence.

8. Any person who co-ntrav,en,es or attempts to evade ,my provis.i-On of this Prodamalio11 or who incites 01·

induces any •) lher person S<} to do o r who alters, <."Oun ter fei ts or substiLutes any permit or who fails ot· . refuses to exhibit any permit. ,upon demand made by any magistr ate o r member of the constabulary shall be guilty o f an offenoo and. upon oonviclion shall be liable lo a fine not iexceeding five hu:udred pounds or .i:n default of payment oo imprisonment with Ol'

without hard !aboul' fo l' a period ·not exceeding two years or t·o both such fine and such imprisonment.

9. In any prose<'.ut.i:on for .all ,offence against this Pro­chlmation the bu1·dun -of p-ro<lf that a permit has been issued shall he up-on the accused.

10. ?llartial Law Regulations N-os. 2, 3, 4, !)2 and 95 shall be and ar.e hereb~, repealed.
