TRANSCRIPT
Our Digital Leaders have been sharing their knowledge with Year 2 this week. Their visit was very much appreciated as the Infants had an internet safety themed week this week. The children spoke to Year 2 about keeping safe online and were great role models for our younger children, so much so Year 2 have asked if they can become digital leaders too! Digital Leaders Visit the Infants’ School Year 5s have enjoyed ‘Robotic Days’ over the last 2 weeks, which has been a fantastic link to our STEM development. The day was led by specialists, funded by parental contributions and ensured the children had the opportunity to apply their technological and engineering skills whilst also learning about working collaboratively. Thank you to the Year 5 team for enabling the children to have this opportunity. 5S Robotics Day Next week are our Parent Teacher/Pupil Consultations which everyone has signed up for through
our online booking system. These meetings are very important as this is the mid-way point in your
child’s academic year. Teachers will be able to discuss with you, your child’s current attainment,
progress and their attitude to learning. We very much appreciate the strong relationships we have
with you, which enables us to work together to achieve the very best for your child.
I have also been asked to share this with the School Community—Traffic Regulation Order for the proposed parking restriction changes in and around Elmlea Avenue. Coronavirus We have received the following advice from the DfE Advice for Parents/Guardians You should not be unduly worried about the possibility of your children catching the Coronavirus. There is no reason why your children should not continue to attend their early years, school or further education setting as normal. We recognise that some families or children may be planning to travel to China during the forthcoming half term period. If so, please refer to the FCO’s latest travel advice. What action you can take: Please help us by ensuring you encourage your children by promoting basic hygiene practices, such as regularly washing hands and always sneezing into a tissue, to stem the spread of viruses. Safer Internet Day 2020
Tuesday 11th February is Internet Safety Day across the country and we will be running some assemblies, workshops and activities in school to celebrate how great the internet is but also how to stay safe online. The theme this year is 'Free to be me' and is based around our online identity and what we should be willing to share online.
To help support the safety of our children in their online world, it would be great for you to continue discussions at home. Here are some links to resources that you may wish to use.
