Options for transferring to resorts are based on distance, and short jaunts from the airport are achieved via speedboat or yacht, while resorts further out are reached by seaplane or domestic flight. The first luxury resort to establish itself south of the equator, Shangri-La's Villingili Resort and Spa makes its home in the heart-shaped Addu Atoll, which boasts some of the biggest islands in the Maldives.
