Animal Care Assistant RSPCA
The postholder will be part of the front line staff providing high standards of care for animals, maintaining good customer relations and projecting a professional image of the Society. As partners of Warmer Wight Scheme 9D Energy Ltd are now recruiting Home Energy Guidance Representative (HEGR) to identify eligible residents for Energy Company Obligations (E.C.O) funding or Green Deal Funding in the Isle of Wight area. HEGR’s need represent Warmer Wight leads and collect relevant evidence should the client be eligible for the scheme, alongside visiting known leads the role requires an active process of door to door canvassing. As agreed with Trading Standards IOW the process requires a letter drop 80-100 houses per day and then following up the following day on the doorstep to identify if energy saving measures are needed and if the home owner is eligible. The daily targets is to find and gather evidence of approximately 8 suitable households per full working day. To do this 9D will provide equipment to gather the evidence. 9D prides itself on respecting the customer and all HEGR’s will be required to follow a strict code of conduct (agreed by full IOW Council) that respects occupants privacy and feelings. The scheme is currently awaiting final approval it is intended that the Warmer Wight scheme will be fully endorsed by the IOW council through the Code of Conduct. It has been approved by Trading Standards, many Parish Councils (in the relevant area) as well as leading community organisations such as the Footprint Trust. In the main HEGR’s will be working as part of a team of 4-6 persons but may be required to other visit as required. Training to be provided: 2-week induction programme, on-going on the job training, Health and Safety training – in house. Skills Required: Excellent customer interface skills, respectful attitude, good general understanding of Energy Saving Measures (ideally with formal training) such as: Wall and loft insulation, heating types. • Once training has been provided candidate should be able to use an iPad including taking pictures and filling in web forms to gather evidence. • A basic general knowledge of the ECO and Green Deal programme • Ability to work as a team or as an individual • H&S & basic training will be given on the process and key indicators. • HEGR’s must be able to get to given locations – bus transport can be provided Qualifications Required: 4 x GCSE’s – C Grade or above or equivalent

The 4P course runs over a four week period with NEETs attending three sessions each week. The course is
designed to introduce students to the basic and essential skills relating to Radio presentation and production,
hence the 4P’s:
Presentation Promotion Production Podcasting
Course Content to include:
Write, record and produce a 30 second audio CV which will be used on air
Be interviewed live on air
Plan a show
Podcast interviews
Record links for the request show
Write and produce a commercial
Research news of the morning report live on air
Interview guests
Vectis Radio regularly broadcasts to over 4000 listeners and has listeners in over 50 Countries!
The Tutor
The sessions will be primarily delivered by the Director of Vectis Radio, Ian Mac who will be supported in
delivering the course by other members of the Vectis Radio team.
Ian has developed the idea of the 4P course as a means of passing on his extensive knowledge and experience
to young people and hopes that the 4P course will not just enable those who undertake it to develop specific
broadcasting industry skills but also help more widely in enabling participants to develop their confidence and
self esteem as they move into their working career.
